California Fruit Growers Exchange Fills First Vice-President Vacancy Position of first vice-president of California Fruit Growers Exchange, vacant since the passing of William K. Beattie of Upland in December, was filled at the directors meeting this week by the election of Harvey A. Lynn of Riverside. LeRoy E. Lyon of Orange county was elected second vice-president and J. A. Moffett of Lemon Cove was elected third vice-president. Mr. Lynn has represented the Riverside-Arlington Heights Fruit exchange on the Sunkist board for the past 21 years and has been second vice-president since Nov. 1938. He has been a citrus grower since 1917 and his connection with the industry started ten years earlier when he was a stenographer in the Los Angeles office of the cooperative. Mr. Lyon and Mr. Moffett own citrus in Orange county and in Tulare county, respectively. DEDUCTIBLE ITEMS Summarized, the deductible items include: Registration fees, vehicle license fees, personal property taxes and municipal taxes paid during the calendar year; interest on money borrowed for the purchase of an automobile; the amount of financing charges on automobiles purchased but not the amount covering the premium on insurance to protect the finance company's interest; automobile insurance on cars used for business purposes; uncompensated losses sustained by damage. DAMAGES PAID Other deductons are: damages paid for injuries to persons or for destruction of property, provided the auomobile was being used for business at the time of the accident.
