ANAHEIM GAZETTE Established 1870 HENRY KUCHEL, Editor and Publisher 1887-1935 Mrs. Henry Kuchel Theodore B. Kuchel Editors and Publishers The Anaheim Gazette has been owned and edited by the same family since 1875. Published every Thursday at 259 East Center Street, Anaheim, California. Subscription Per Year, $2.00 — Six Months $1.00 Entered as second-class matter at the Post Office at Anaheim, California, under the Act of March 8, 1879. Suggestions Appreciated! With gradual dispersal of Anaheim's business district threatening the city because of the lack of adequate and ample parking facilities, merchants, owners, and civic leaders this week moved to study the problem for a remedy. The remedy, of course, would be to provide convenient parking facilities for shoppers. The means to achieve this is exacting no little concern, for the recent trends in the city is toward the building of new businesses on the outskirts of the present downtown section. The eventual result, those who are studying the problem, have come to the conclusion, would mean the scattering of the local business section from one end of the city to the other. This, in turn, would mean the decrease in value of business properties and the creation of a problem in city planning. Quite a mess all the way round. Curb parking has been termed as no remedy for the congestion. Opponents cite the fact that the thoroughfares of the city must necessarily be used more and more for traffic movement with the increase in military travel in the city. The ultimate answer, a badly needed improvement in city streets, will take a great deal of planning. Suggestions are appreciated!
