SON LEAVES
Bob Barnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. W. Barnes of 623 N. Zeyn st., left Sunday for Palo Alto where he is a sophomore student at Stanford university. He was at home over the holidays.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bakenhus of 522 S. Indiana st. were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Donohue of Garden Grove on New Year's day. Also present were the Bakenhus children, Eugene and Roger and the Donohue children, Jennine and Billy.

Joseph L. Heinz, son of Mrs. and Mrs. J. W. Heinz of 1224 N. Palm st., left Friday morning for the Navy Air Corps Reserve at Long Beach where he is stationed at the present time.

SKATING PARTIES
Friday evening skating parties at the Anaheim city park will be continued this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Youngsters are invited to come and parents may watch from chairs provided by city park officials. Door prizes and music will be provided also.
FIRST GRANDAUGHTER
A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Fyatt, the former Miss Ruth Yale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Yale of 539 S. Citron st., at the Methodist hospital in Los Angeles on New Year's day. Both the mother and child are doing fine and will go home soon to 441 W. 118th st., Los Angeles.
ORANGETHORPE PTA
The next meeting of Orangehorpe PTA will be held next Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the school auditorium. Miss Carma Zimmerman, county librarian, will be the speaker of the day.

AT LAKE RANCH
Mrs. Ruth Jefferson Rust and Mrs. Sid McGraw, both of Anaheim, spent four days last week at Sahuaro Lake Ranch in Arizona. They returned Sunday evening with Warren Rust, son of Mrs. Rust, who was in Arizona.
SUNDAY TURKEY DINNER
Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Lamers of 525 W. Chestnut st. were hosts Sunday at a 2 p.m. turkey dinner.
The table was centered with a bowl of holly and red candles at each end.
Guests included Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Page and daughter, Beverly Joy, of Long Beach; Mrs. D. R. Humphrey and daughters, Barbara June and Lorraine of Compton; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Goodrich and son, Stanley jr., of Los Angeles; Miss Evylin Hamon of Abilene, Texas; Mrs. Amelia Lamers, Mrs. Anna Hamon, Dr. and Mrs. Vern Hamon, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Lamers and children, Ken and Shirley, all of Anaheim.
Invited but unable to be present were Bud Humphreys of Compton, Mrs. Ann Girton of Whitewater and Buss Hamon of Anaheim.
NEWLYWEDS MAKE HOME IN FULLERTON AFTER CEREMONY
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Del Giorgio, the former Miss Madeline Helene Moore of Anaheim, were at their new home on N. Woods ave., Fullerton, after New Year's day. They were married at St. Mary's church, Fullerton, December 20 at 9 a.m.
At the ceremony, performed by Father Lehans, the former Miss Moore wore a gold ensemble with olive green accesories and carried a Talisman roses bouquet. She was given in marriage by Walter Amstutz,, a close friend. Maid of honor was Laura Dean, who was dressed in black and gold and green accesories and carried golden roses.
CHURCH DECORATIONS
Decorations in the church were gold and rust chrysanthemums.
A reception followed at the Elks clubhouse in Anaheim. Mrs. Helen Moore, the bride's mother, received in a black costume with a corsage of red roses.
ANAHEIM HIGH
The former Miss Moore is a graduate of Anaheim high school, Fullerton junior college and UCLA. She is teaching in Garden Grove. Mr. Del Georgio, the son of Martin Del Giorgio of Buena Park, attended Fullerton schools and Loyola University. He is employed at the Del Giorgio ranch in Buena Park.
For their honeymoon, the Del Giorgios went to Arizona and Carlsbad, N. Mex., for a short stay.

And all we can also remember those Summer Hawaiian printed beach shirts, the richly colored tweed sport jackets... All these emphasize one thing—men's clothes are nally becoming comfortable (the first time since the caveman).
RAINBOW'S GOLD POT
So much for 1941. Now ahead us is one of the most important years of our lives and our nation not only in the world of fashion but also in this world of hate and greed and hope. We women have a job to do this year. We must wear a colorful bunch. No olive drake Navy blue for us. These dreary times need a dash of tobacco as the women can furnish it — wearing the colors of the rainbow Who knows? Maybe that's the way to find the pot of gold at the eighth place.

Mary Shea-Edwin Conger Engagement Is Revealed Friday in Party Sport Theme
Two tennis players on a napkin before silver wedding bells with the names "Mary and Ed" told the story at the announcement party of Miss Mary Shea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Shea of Placentia ave., Friday evening.
Her bride-groom elect is Edwin Conger of Fullerton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Conger.
HOME DECORATIONS
Decorations in the home were in the sport theme carried out with miniature winter sport scenes. Lovely floral arrangements of yellow and white snapdragons with chrysanthemums were placed throughout the home.

MARIE HEINZ TELLS ENGAGEMENT TO FERDINAND PATIN
Miss Marie Heinz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Heinz of 1224 N. Palm st., revealed her engagement to Ferdinand Patin, son of T. Patin of Anaheim, after a family dinner given by Mrs. John Kirsch, sr., grandmother of the bride-elect.
The dinner was given at the Marigold cafe after which the group met at the J. W. Heinz home for games and moving pictures. Prizes went to Bernie Heinz, J. W. Heinz, Mrs. J. Kirasch of Redondo, and Mrs. John Kirsch jr. The announcement — "Marie and Ferdie"—was found in a surprise envelope contained in the first prize.

A dessert course was served by Mrs. Conger, mother of the bride-groom-to-be, and Mrs. M. J. Bradley, aunt of the bride-elect, of Anaheim.
Miss Shea, a graduate of Anaheim high school and University of California, is in the physical education department at Fullerton high school.
FULLERTON HIGH
Mr. Conger attended Fullerton high school and junior college and is employed in the production control department of North American Aviation.

BOB ARMENTROUT WEDS IN SAN LUIS OBISPO CHAPEL
The San Luis Obispo chapel was the scene of a military wedding on Christmas day of Miss Irene Coker of San Luis Obispo and Robert Armentrout, formerly of Anaheim, and now a private in the San Luis Obispo camp.

Among those returning to school after a visit at home is Miss Mary Lou Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Jones of N. Zeyn st., who returned this week to the Brown Shool for Girls in Glendale.
BOB ARMENTROUT WEDS IN SAN LUIS OBISPO CHAPEL

Private Armentrout, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Armentrout of 425 E. Adele st., was one of the first of the Anaheim boys to volunteer and left here in Nov., 1940. He is now in the office of camp engineer where he draws layout plans for the camp. He is a graduate of Anaheim high school and Fullerton junior college.
HIS BRIDE
His bride wore an attractive light blue wool suit with brown accessories at the wedding.. Her flower was a single orchid
She is a secretary in the Camp Ordinance Office and attended San Jose schools.
YOUNG COUPLE
As soon as Private Armentrout receive a three-day furlough, the young couple will visit the Armentrouts in Anaheim.

Dr. Frances Hilgenfeld and William Rose Joined in Sacramento Church
Beginning their married life together on the first day of the year, the former Dr. Frances K. Hilgenfeld of Sacramento, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. S. F. Hilgenfeld of 120 E. Broadway, and William O. Rose, also of Sacramento, son of Mrs. Katharine C. Rose, of Westminster, were married at the Evangelical church of Sacramento with both Rev. Hilgenfeld and Rev. J. Schergacher officiating.
The bride's gown was a suit made of a crepe dress with a wool coat in crushed raspberry. Her flowers were white orchids made into a shoulder corsage. Marton of honor was Mrs. Robert Farrar, sister of the bride, of Santa Ana, who wore a beige suit with brown squirrel fir trim. Her corsage was a green orchid.
BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED
The church was beautifully decorated with white gladiolas and tall white tapers. William Pisani, organist, from Lodi, played "Intermezzo," "Ave Maria," "Moonlight and Roses," and "Concerto in B Flat." The soloist before the ceremony was Donald Krueger of Lodi, who sang "Because" and "Ich Liebe Dich."
Best man at the nuptial rites was Raymond R. Rose, Westminster, brother of the groom. Ushers were Harvey C. Nunn, Dr. William R. Patterson and Carl Flautt of Sacramento; and Robert S. Farrar of Santa Ana.
RECEPTION HELD
A reception was held at Dunlap's wedding dinner. Guests were relatives and attendants. Receiving were Mrs. Hilgenfeld, in a black crepe with lace trim and a red rose corsage, Mrs. Rose, dressed in a military blue dress and a corsage of Talisman roses, and Mrs. Harvey C. Nunn, sister of the bride, who sliced the cake after the bride and groom had cut the first piece.
The former Dr. Hilgenfeld is a graduate of the Los Angeles College of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, class of 1940, an interne for one year at Los Angeles County Osteopathic Hospital and has been taking over the practice of Dr. Leta B. Jackson of Sacramento. She is a member of the Interne Alumna Association.
