TWO DINNERS
Mr. and Mrs. W. Ralph Focht with daughter, De Lyte, of 507 S. Citron st., will have been entertained at two dinners at the end of this week. On Sunday they were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mays of Huntington Park and on Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Burns of Hawthorne will be their hosts.
PEARSONS ENTERTAIN
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pearson of 518 N. Lemon st. are expecting to serve dinner to both sides of the family this Christmas. To be present for certain is Mrs. Pearson's sister, Mrs. Zeta Kempton and daughter, Jean, of Long Beach.
THE SCHUTZ FAMILY
Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Schutz of Burton rd. will entertain in yule-tide fashion the members of their family. Expecting to be present are the Schutz's three sons, Robert, Schutz, Warren Schutz, his wife and daughter, Charlene; and Dr. and Mrs. Charles Schutz. Mrs. Charles Schutz's parents, Dr. and Mrs. R. J. Harvey, and grandmother, Mrs. Eleanor Harvey, will also attend.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett M. Cone of 548 S. West st. with daughters, Jacqueline and Mary, will be among the 35 family guests at the home of Mrs. John Leutwieler, mother of Mrs. Cone, in La Habra, Christmas day.

MISS RUTH PERRY TELLS ENGAGEMENT TO MARSHALL McFIEH
Miss Ruth Perry announced her engagement to Marshall McFieh at an after-church party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Perry at 224 N. Olive st., Sunday night.
About 25 members and guests of the college age group of Church of Christ attended. Refreshments were served and dainty napkins with a protruding cat tail were passed around. The tail was pulled thus letting the cat out of the bag and announcing the engagement of Ruth and Marshall.
FANCY COOKIES
A light gelatin dessert, fancy cookies and a lovely heart-shaped cake were served by Mrs. Perry and Mrs. Ray McFiee, mothers of the betrothed couple.
A Christmas card was signed by all those present to be sent to Warren Baker and James McGuire; Anaheim boys who are at Illinois in the army.
IMPROMPTU PROGRAM
The vening was spent in an impromptu program. Mrs. June Cusick sang a number of solos; Gertrude Hunt led the group in songs; the honored guests, Marshall and Ruth, played two piano duets; and Rev. Earl Boatman, pastor of the Church of Christ, gave a reading.
Decorations featured a lovely Christmas tree and red and green arrangements of flowers and pine cones.

Special guests were Mrs. Nannie Perry, grandmother of Ruth; Mr. and Mrs. Ray McFiee, parents of the bridesroom to bat!

FACULTY PARTY
Sixty-seven members of the Anaheim high school faculty met at the Ebell clubhouse Tuesday night for their annual Christmas dinner party.
Three tables formed a large "U" and were decorated with small Santa Clausss and green and red paper favors. A large Christmas tree also decorated the dining hall.
Stunts, games and music followed the dinner, J. L. Vander Veer served as Santa Claus and distributed the gifts.
The committee in charge of the occasion were the new teachers: Miss Balliet, general chairman; who led the group singing; Miss Thompson, decorations; Miss Hollingsworth, square dancing; and Mr. Wheeler, reservations.

Mr. and Mrs. James Kilduff of 215 N. Olive st. will entertain Mrs. Kilduff's mother, Mrs. Amy Sanderson, and Mr. Kilduff's mother, Mrs. Lydia Kilduff, this Christmas. Some soldier friends from March Field are expected to be here for the celebration.
A LARGE PARTY
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Woodward and children, Leland, Thomas and Erlene, will entertain at a family party at their home, 1204 W. Center st., Christmas eve. Among those present will be Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Jessup, brother-in-law and sister of Mrs. Woodward; Mrs. Elba Seal, mother of Mrs. Woodward; Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Woodward, parents of Mr. Woodward, all of Whittier; Mr. and Mrs. Willis Harner and son, Richard, of Los Angeles; and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Cate and children, Jimmie and Jerry, of Pico.
The same group will enjoy a dinner at Mrs. Seal's home on Christmas.

Mrs. George Fendley's daughter and grandaughter, Mrs. Helen McCandless and daughter, Joan, will be here at the Palace.
SMITH'S LEAVE
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith of 857 N. Helena st., who made numerous friends in Anaheim during their year of residence here, left Thursday for Big Creek, Calif., where Mr. Smith will work for the Edison company, as he did here.
SOUTH PASADENA
Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Yonge of Riverside will be Christmas eve guests of Dr. and Mrs. Howard Tews at 700 N. Helena st. On Christmas, the Tews with their daughter, Norma Jean, and Mrs. Tew's father, Joseph Frosant, of La Port, Ind., will spend the day at the home of Mrs. Tews' cousin, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Anders in South Pasadena.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zeppenfeld of 229 E.Cypress st. will entertain seven members of their family and two Eastern guests, Mr. and Mrs. John Moquin of Pittsburg, Mass.on Christmas day. The Moquins are spending the winter in Long Beach. Members of the family to attend include Mr. and Mrs.William Davis, niece and nephew of the hosts; Mrs.Florence Davis,sister, of Mrs.Zeppenfeld; Mrs.Ester Ford, another sister,and the hosts' daughter, Ester, all of Anaheim; and Mr. and Mrs.John Schumacher, brother - in - law and sister, of Burbank.

Mr. and Mrs.F.A.Pietrok of 901 S.Lemon st., were hosts to Salem, Ore., visitors, Mr. and Mrs.Louis Zielinski and Miss.Ellen Schmidt, Wednesday and Thursday.Mrs.iZelinski is the nephew of Mr.Pietrok. Previous to their stay in Anaheim,the Oregon folk were seeing the sights in Arizona.

EIGHT-POUND BOY
Mr.vand Mrs.Ralph Ricci of Olive Were announcing to friends the news of the birth of an eight-pound boy,John Paul,born December 17 at San Anton hospital in Uplands.
Mr.Ricci is a well-known equipment mechanic in Orange County and with the coming of his second son,his expecting to have some help with his job in a few years.His other son is now 14 months old.

Eunice Stimson is Bride of Miles Bever At Candlelight Services In Long Beach
Miss Eunice June Stimson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Stimson of Long Beach, became the bride of Miles Edward Bever of Anaheim at a candlelight service in the Lakewood Village chapel Sunday.
Guests numbering 200 witnessed the ceremony officiated by Rev. W. R. Hall.
WHITE FLOWERS
White flowers harmonizing with Christmas decorations adorned the chancel where the bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Joseph Warrington Rodgers. She wore an ice blue chiffon gown over crepe, fashioned on Grecian lines, and her matching turban was of handmade flowers. She wore a corsage of orchids and bouvardia and was attended by her sister, Mrs. Joseph W. Rodgers,
who was attired in dusty pink chiffon over crepe with turban of handmade flowers and corsage of Cecil Bruner roses.
Little Millicent Rodgers was the flower girl, wearing pink taffeta. Best man was R. B. Stimson of La Habra, brother of the bride, and ushers were Evan and Bill Schwartz and James Stimson, nephews.
RECEPTION AFTER
A reception followed at the Rodgers home in Long Beach, where Mrs. James Moiola of Huntington Beach, another sister of the bride, and Mrs. R. B. Stimson of La Habra, were co-hostesses.
After a honeymoon trip to Mexico City, the couple will reside in Anaheim. The bride was educated in Abilene, Texas, and has been employed as stenographer in the office of a Long Beach oil company.
Lakewood Village Church Scene of Vows For Mary Morrison and Edmund R. Cook
Lakewood Village church was the setting for the marriage of Miss Mary Morrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Morrison of Long Beach, and Edmund R. Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Cook of Anaheim, last week with Rev. W. P. Hall officiating.
Miss Morrison wore a white satin princess style gown with fingertip veil crowned with a halo of Bouvardia. She carried a shower bouquet.
Baker were attendants. Lyle Canton was best man and Don Dickenson of Anaheim and Robert Tipton of Long Beach were ushers.
A reception was given at the bride's home following the ceremony.
ANAHEIM HIGH
The bride graduated from Long Beach schools and is a member of the Woman’s Symphony orchestra in that city. Mr. Cook is a graduate from Anaheim high school.
After a short honeymoon, the couple will return to make their home in Anaheim.

Bridge was played with being won by Miss Iona McTry, first; Mrs. Grace Robb second; and Mrs. Cleo Ko third. A group gift, a coffee was presented to the honored before refreshments were served.

All men and women in Orange county and vicinity are invited to attend the fourth annual YMCA-YWCA 3-day convention at Moon WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH MEMBERS ENTERTAINED
For the last ten years, Mrs. Geo. Fendley of 529 S. Los Angeles st., has had members of the Wesley Methodist church at her home for a Christmas party and so it was this year, last Thursday, when about 50 were present for the occasion.
A large lighted tree was featured in the Christmas decorations and throughout the home, arrangements of poinsettas and holly added a holiday note.
A short business meeting preceded a program with Mrs. J. H. Haines, president of the women's guild, presiding. The young children of the church gave readings during the program. Rev. Fred Essig was in charge of devotionals during the afternoon. Christmas carols were sung before refreshments were served.

Dr. Frances Hilgenfeld Will Be Honored At Pre-nuptial Shower Next Saturday
Dr. Frances Hilgenfeld, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Hilgenfeld of this city, will be honored with a pre-nuptial shower at the home of her parents next Saturday. Dr. Hilgenfeld will arrive from Sacramento on Dec. 26.
Co-hostesses with Mrs. Hilgenfeld will be her daughter, Mrs. Robert Farrar of Santa Ana. More than 50 guests are being hidden to the affair.
AFTER CHRISTMAS
Dr. Hilgenfeld will exchange vows with William Oberst Rose also of Sacramento, shortly after Christmas. She is a graduate of College of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons in Los Angeles after graduation from Anaheim high school.
On finishing her internship in Los Angeles county hospital last July she took over temporarily the practice of Dr. Lela Jackson of the capital city. Following her marriage she plans to establish her own office and practice in the northern city.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mrs. Katherine Rose of Westminster and attended Huntington Beach high school and Fullerton junior college. He is with the McClellans Air depot at Sacramento.
