Aces Place Three On All-Star Team
Continued from page 1
been travelling at a fast clip during the past week. They closed the Santa Barbara series last Friday night with a victory, split a twin bill with Stockton Sunday and edged out the Fliers, 4 to 3, in the 13 inning battle Monday night.
Hallbourgh won two of the four victories posted by Anaheim during the week, defeating Santa Barbara last Friday night and Fresno Tuesday. The other victories were turned in by Joe Malman and Gus DeVolder, southpaw aces of the mound staff. Tony Jeli was charged with the only defeat during the last five games, losing a 2 to 1 duel with Stockton Sunday night.
Merited recognition was the award received by three members of the Anaheim Aces in the balloting for an all-star team of the State League that will meet the Fresno Cardinals next Tuesday night at Fresno. The balloting for stellar performers was held throughout the league loop, with Gus Hallbourgh, pitcher; Ray Tran, shortstop and Fred Cochrane, outfielder being the choice from Anaheim.
The complete roster of the all-star aggregation will be as follows:
Outfielders: Charles Strada, Stockton; Waldon Westlake, Merced; Fred Cochrane, Anaheim, and Keith Frazier, Stockton. The infield includes John "Bud" Clancy, Santa Barbara, first base; Bill Hebert, Merced, second base; Ray Tran, Anaheim, shortstop; John Marcial Velaskis Calderon

Come on, Hot Weather
I can "take it" with my CP gas range
to do the work
IF YOU'VE EVER SAID, "I hate to think of cooking in summer," here's good news—a Certified Performance gas range—that makes cooking fun even in warm weather. Extra-heavy insulation keeps heat inside the range—out of your kitchen. Automatic controls take the guess work out of roasting and baking—enable you to relax knowing that everything is going to "come out just right." CP broilers need no preheating (a real time-saver) and are constructed so that face and hands are always out of the heat zone, even when you're removing foods. See the beautiful new CP gas ranges—today—at a dealer's or SOUTHERN COUNTIES GAS COMPANY
In Southern California it's more than 10 to 1 for GAS cooking
