New Commissioners Guests at Banquet
Anaheim Union high school's commission for the school year of 18941-42 was entertained at a banquet in the school cafeteria Monday night by the outgoing commission.
Sponsors of the party were Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Clayes, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Focht, Mrs. Richard Gay, Mrs. Dorothy Peck, Miss Lois Dyer and J. M. Henry.
The newly elected commission members who were guests at the banquet, are: James Power, president; William Rinehart, vice president; Dorothy Pearson, secretary; Virginia Harbeson, commissioner of safety and welfare; Claudia Bloom, commissioner of girls' athletic; Don Chamberlain, commissioner of boys' athletic, and Bernard Baumbach, commissioner of student affairs.
Outgoing commission members, who were the hosts, are: Bud Mahoney, Robert Whitmore, Marjorie Coffman, Joyce Ann Hayes, Marilyn Rimpau, Keith Preston, and William Lewis.
MARYWOOD HIGH WILL GRADUATE 15
Graduation ceremonies for Marywood Catholic High school seniors will start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday with a graduation mass in the school chapel.
Senior breakfast will be served in the school dining room at 10 o'clock with school and church dignitaries as guests.
Commencement exercises will be held on the campus at 4:00 p.m.
Members of the class are:
Katherine Bevins, Ruth Braneschi, Patricia Duffy, Nancy Ganahl, Genevieve Heinz, Barbara Heying, Betty Jean Kirsch, Lucille Roy, Helen Sanchez, all of Anaheim.
Loara School Pupils Of 90's Hold Reunion
Students of the Lora school in the early '90s held a reunion at the home ranch of Mr. and Mrs. Major Schulz in Chino, Sunday. Mrs. Schulz is the former Dora Snyder.
Guests arrived in the early afternoon and dinner was served at six.
Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Gustaf Heiman, Miss Fritzie Heiman, Mrs. Jocho (Louise Rinker), Dan Mauerhan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rodriquez (Mary Bolz), and Mrs. Blanchard Snyder all of Los Angeles.
Mrs. Louise Bolz and Fred Bolz of Pasadena, Arno Hansen of Pomona, Miss Elise Neubauer, Paul Neubauer, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Carroll, Mrs. A. Rannow, Miss Ida and Miss Rannow, all of Anaheim, completed the list.
Miss Schulz assister her mother in entertaining the guests.
Star Salesmen Guests at Outing
Eight salesmen of Everett Con's chevrolet agency in Anaheim and their wives were guests on a Catalina voyage last Thursday and Friday. High point salesmen in Southern California were entitled to the trip.
The group stayed at Villa Park. A ballgame was played between districts and the usual beach sports indulged too. A drawing was held and John Raber of Anaheim won a traveling kit. In the evening, Hawaiian entertainers led group singing.
Anaheim guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leirman, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Plou Named Valedor Club Head
Henry Plou was elected president of the Valedor club of St. Boniface church at a meeting held Monday night in the Parish hall.
Other officers elected were: Bud Stoffel, vice president; Betty McIntyre, secretary; Joseph Heinz, treasurer, and Agnes Kraemer, financial secretary.
The newly reorganized club arranged to hold a confederation dance at the Parish hall on July 11, and a picnic in conjunction with the Santa Ana Catholic club July 19.
The club has invited Catholic seniors at Anaheim Union and Marywood high schools to attend the next club meeting, June 23.
200 Attend Picnic For Cypress School
Wednesday, at the Anaheim City park, Cypress elementary school had its annual picnic with 200 children and parents enjoying the lunch and games.
Mrs. Everett Hilton was in charge of refreshments while Paul Jungkeit, Miss Elizabeth Wilkinson and Mrs. Evelyn Taylor formed the game committee.
Meet in Army Camp
John and David Clark, sons of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Clark of Carritos St., were together at Fort Luis, Washington, for a short time.
John has recently been moved to Fort Sill, Okla. for three months of special training in field artillery work. David, who has been in the army since March, has received his sergeant rating at Fort Luis.

Prize Awards Made At Girl Scout Court
The annual girl scout court of awards was held Thursday evening in the Ebell clubhouse. About 250 persons were there to watch the nine Anaheim troops participate in the program.
Mrs. Ernest F. Ganahl, commissioner, gave her address of welcome and each troop presented a skit, including folk dances, Marionette act and songs.
First class scout badges went to Doris Jean Koontz and Peggy Ann Ganahl.
Achievement badges were awarded to 120 girls. Troops included Fremount, George Washington, Broadway, Marywood Benjamin Franklin, St. Boniface, Horace Mann, Cypress and Centralia schools.
Parents' Club Play Applauded
“He Was a Gay Senorita” drew a long line of laughs from a capacity audience at the Grand theater Tuesday night. The three-act play was presented by the Centralia Parents’ club and was directed by Mrs. Helen G. Nelson.
The lead and title role was played expertly by Paul Tharette, of Santa Ana. Herbert Hunt, of Buena Park, in the role of Patsy, the chauffer, also was a finished actor.
Many people interested in community theaters attended, including representatives from Little Theater groups in Hollywood and Santa Ana.
This play soon may be presented in army camps.
“The Cuckoo's Nest” and “What a Family” are two more plays the club will present this summer.

Mr. Jack Gledhill of 411 North Emily St., took his wife out to a chicken dinner Monday night in Los Angeles. It was their twenty-third wedding anniversary.
Daughter Graduates
Miss Isabel Gorman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo P. Gorman, of
209 N. Helena St., was graduated from the Immaculate Heart college in Hollywood Tuesday evening. She was one of the thirty-two to be presented diplomas. She is a member of the honorary society.
Brief Vacation
Mrs. A. M. Grant, of 324 North Lemon St., spent a brief vacation in San Diego last week-end, accompanied by her niece, Mrs. Robert Smith, of Long Beach. They stayed with friends.
Climate Favorable
Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Graves, of 309 W. Center St., spent last week-end at Victorville. They go there often because the climate is favorable to them.
Sister Visits
