Parsons, former deputy district attorney in Los Angeles, told members and guests of the Associated Farmers of Orange county. Parsons spoke during the annual meeting of the group at the Orange Women's clubhouse Thursday evening. He sounded an impassioned plea for cooperation among big and small business men as well as agriculturists to guard the "American Way." Parsons cited documented evidence to prove that the organized communists “taking their orders from above” are making every attempt to undermine American institutions. Through labor agitation, sabotage, infiltration into the public schools, the advancing of class hatred, this program is being carried out, he declared. He charged that “one thousand teachers in California schools are actively supporting the communist party.” Parsons then turned to the question of labor and how the small minority group leaders have worked their will upon the American public. “These leaders in labor,” he said, “tell us of how pious they are.” But on the other hand, he added, their actions betray their professed American attitude. “Let us get rid of these people before it’s too late,” he urged. California now has some 100,000 Public Works answers to questions drained in a standard form of questionnaire and financial ability and experience performing public works. Dated April 18, 1941. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS C. H. PURCELL, State Highway Engineer. 4-17-24; 5-1-41 Parsons then turned to the question of labor and how the small minority group leaders have worked their will upon the American public. "These leaders in labor," he said, "tell us of how pious they are." But on the other hand, he added, their actions betray their professed American attitude. "Let us get rid of these people before it's too late," he urged. California now has some 100,000 communists, with Hollywood the "hotbed" of the group, Parsons said. He mentioned Ralph Dawson in connection with the recent Harvill dye-casting plant strike and declared, "Dawson is a high official of the C.I.O. Warehouse's union and is the most dangerous man in the United States today." Don A. Stevning of Riverside, state president of the association, addressed the assemblage briefly on activities of the Associated Farmers. The matter of "hot cargo" and "secondary boycott" is first on the legislative program of the organization, he said. Want Ads 250 You'll love it.
