Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dwyer returned home Saturday from an extensive tour of the eastern and southern states. Leaving Anaheim, Feb. 18, they arrived in Chicago, Ill. Feb. 22, and from there they went to Detroit where they took delivery on a new automobile. Mrs. Dwyer reports that one of the highlights of the trip was the new six-lane highway from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg, Penn., which is about 200 miles long and only 11 side roads. Their next stopping place was Willimantic, Conn., where they visited Mr. Dwyer's relatives. They continued their journey by way of the high speed highway from New Haven to New York City and from there they traveled to Washington D.C. where they attended the afternoon session of the senate. They heard a discussion of the "Lease Lend Bill," and a heated argument between Senator Alben Barkley of Kentucky and Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana. Continuing on their tour, they took a side trip to Williamsburg, Va., which is being restored by the Rockerfeller Foundation and is almost completely restored at this time. From there they went south following the coast line to Miami, Flo. Mrs. Dwyer states that the roads on the east coast of Florida were extremely narrow.
