BOWLING SCORES OF THE WEEK WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12 Double-headers were played by Wednesday Handicap league teams with the following results: Spanish Kitchen 3, Lake's Men's Wear 1; DeLuxe Cleaners 1, Lake's 3; Spanish Kitchen 2, Lund's Paints 2; DeLuxe Cleaners 1; Lund's 3. Joe Rapier topped the series scores with 528, while Kishmer had high individual game of 215. Both roll for Lake's. In a special match, the Philadelphia Athletics trounced the Sacramento Solons, 3 to 0. Herman Besse rolled a total of 585, while Benny McCoy had a 217 single game. All games ended in a three- one score, with Curley Williams' Cafe beating Jack Corn's Clothiers and Mutual Citrus Products defeating Ed Schleuter's. Henry Del Giorgio and Chuck Comstock shared honors for the evening, with the former having a single game of two and the two men tying for high series as five. In a special match, members of the Philadelphia Athletics spotted Silzle's Citra-Golds, a women's quintet, ten points a game and lost three straight games. Herman Besse paced the men with fifty and Agnes Wagner led the women with forty. The box scores: HOWARD'S GARAGE Howard .....                                                                            Citrus Institute Slated Thursday Annual Conference to Be Held at Valencia High School All details are completed for the Orange County Citrus institute which will be held next Thursday at Valencia high school in Placentia, it was announced this week by C. J. Mauerhan of Anaheim chairman of the Farm Bureau citrus committee and co-chairman with Farm Advisor H. E. Wahlberg of the institute. A reception committee has been chosen by the Placentia farm center and included Roy Hale, Jack Crossley and T. L. Aldredge. Sessions will be held at nine:30 a.m. and l:30 p.m., with a luncheon to be held in the school cafeteria at l:30 o'clock. Mauerhan will be chairman for the morning session with the greetings to be extended by Supervisor James A. Baker or Anaheim. Speakers during the meeting will be Frank Was, Santa Ana Banker; John Schneider; marketing specialist of University of California; Paul Armstrong; general manager of California Fruit Growers Exchange, and A. G. Salter, agricultural extension service official. Wahlberg will preside during the afternoon with questions and discussions scheduled to follow talks by Kenneth Smoyer of the Agricultural extension service, Dr. W. Tubbs, county agricultural commissioner, and J. C. Johnston, citrus specialist of Riverside. Marketing and production will THURSDAY With Gene Gough setting the pace with 224 and 600, Kiwanis club took a 3-1 decision over I.O.O.F. in the Service club league play. In other games, Knott's Berry Place trimmed 20-30 club, 3 to 1, and K's Beverages downed Elks club, 3 to 1.
