Talk About India
Mrs. Bert L. Cooper of Pomona held 100 guests spellbound Thursday when she spoke before the luncheon meeting of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the White Temple Methodist church.
"India" was the subject of her talk, and she cited many interesting points about the country she and her husband visited while on a world tour.
Circle 4 of the church held the attendance record with 28 members present. Mrs. Norman Tessner and Mrs. Dick Dickenson are leaders of that group. Circle 2, headed by Mrs. William Dierberger and Mrs. Charles Ahlstrom, reached second place.
Luncheon hostesses were Mrs. Louis Hoskins and Mrs. Fred Gosch, who arranged sweetpeas on the tables to carry out the spring motif.
Mrs. O. H. Biehl led the devotionals, Mrs. Ralph Focht led 'the songs and Mrs. Earle Woodward presided. The speaker was presented by Mrs. O. R. Harlow. Circle meetings were announced.
Mrs. Cooper's words were filled with strangeness and contrast of life in India. Magnificent riches next to miserable poverty, beautifully dressed nobles walking by the ragged beggars, high class, low class, always the standard by which Indians are judged, were a few points of her informative lecture.

Miss Donna Law
Weds Lovick Davis
Valentine's Day was true to its name when Miss Donna Lucille Law was married to Lovick Daniel Davis of Buena Park at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Law of Garden Grove.
The setting was doubly romantic, being a duplicate of the bride's parents' when they were married 29 years ago. Before a window the ceremony took place, officiated over by the Rev. Chet McCousland of Santa Cruz and in the presence of relatives. The bride wore her mother's wedding dress and carried red roses centered with a white orchid.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Gil Franzen of Anaheim, wearing blue lace over satin. Dainty in pink organdy was the diminutive flower girl, Beverly Jean Paulus. Robert Marvin Law was the best man.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Law of Stanton road and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chris Paulus, well-known early day residents of Anaheim.
Mr. Davis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Gilkinson of Long Beach.
The bride followed tradition at the reception and cut the first piece of the wedding cake. Serving were Mrs. Thomas Tuck of Torrance and Miss Larabelle Law of Los Angeles.
The newly-weds will reside in the Warren apartments in Buena Park after the honeymoon in northern California. For her going-away costume the new Mrs. Davis wore a black and dusty pink ensemble with dusty pink accessories. She wore the white orchid at her shoulder.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Davis are
