JOHNNY LESTER MARKS BIRTHDAY Little Johnny Lester was honored Monday afternoon with a gay birthday party given by his mother, Mrs. J. B. Lester, at the family home at 549 South Illinois street. Mrs. O. Krastel was co-hostess and directed various contest games. Prize winners were Eddie Stringer and Jimmy Kinsler. After the games, a delicious refreshment course was served, including a birthday cake with seven candles. Feting Johnny were Dick Krasztel, Ross and David Stuard, Warren Payne, Jan Fort, Eddie Stringer, Jimmy and Eddie Kinsler and Daniel Holden. Auxiliary Plans Christmas Party Plans for a Christmas party to be given in the near future were discussed last night at the regular meeting of the Disabled Veteran Auxiliary of Orange county held at the legion hall in Santa Ana. During the business meeting, it was announced that Mrs. Elvena Cooper would take care of the Anaheim transportation. A report was read concerning Mrs. Esther Kemper of this city. Mrs. Kemper has been ill for some time, but is now on the road to recovery. Plans were made for the eight district meeting Sunday at the legion hall in Santa Ana. Job's Daughters Initiate Two Girls Miss Betty Moore and Miss Shirley Davies were initiated into the Anaheim Jobs' Daughters Monday at the regular meeting held at the Masonic temple. Dorothy Rodieck presided over the business session, and Mrs. Clara Bowen, Mrs. Lorraine Young and Mrs. Ed Stafford served refreshments at the conclusion of the evening. Formal rites of installation will be held December 16. Mrs. Ed Stafford Honors House Guest Mrs. Ed Stafford of 714 North Zeyn street was hostess Tuesday afternoon to a group of women honoring Mrs. Ruby Copeland, guest of Mrs. Ruth Mathison. The informal afternoon was concluded by a light refreshment course. Mrs. Staffird presided over the tea. Her guest of honor, Mrs. Copeland, is from Sicau City, Iowa, and will return the latter half of this week. Others enjoying the afternoon were Mrs. Ray Helsing, Mrs. George Alden, Mrs. Elmer Spence, Mrs. Ruth Mathison and the hostess and honored guest. Get yourself a 1934 Ford Tudor for as little as $95. Son of Former Resident to Wed From the Atlanta, Ga., "Constition" of a recent date we clip Rites Planned for Mrs. Luisa Jordy Last rites for Luisa Jordy, 31, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Hilgenfeld mortuary, with Rev. U. S. Schauer, pastor of the Salem Evangelical church officiating. Entombment will be made in Melrose Abby mausoleum. Mrs. Jordy, a resident of Anaheim for 23 years, died early Monday morning at her home, 509 Chestnut street, after an extended illness. She was a native of Germany, but had resided in the United States nearly 60 years. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. P. Rueter of Anaheim and Mrs. Herman Witte of Garden Grove; three brothers, Jacob Bintz of North Dakota, Louis Gintz of Detroit, Mien., and Fred W. Bintz of Vineland, N. J. Loss of her purse containing $10 in cash and valuable papers was reported to Anaheim police Saturday night by Margaret Woodbury of 129 South Kroeger street. She missed the purse when she left a theater, police were told. Robert H. Boney Receives Award For the third consecutive year, Robert H. C. The marriage will be an event of late December." The bride-elect is well known in special circles here and is a member of many sororities. The bride-room -elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Frederick Cleaveland, of Gladstone, N. J. He attended Duke, Columbia and Drake and is assistant dean of men at Duke University." Anaheim readers know Mrs. J. Cleaveland, mother of the bride-room to be, as the former Miss Melma Bailey, a native of Anaheim and who spent her school days here. She is a daughter of the late Dr. G. H. Bailey, pioneer physician of Anaheim, and Mrs. Bailey of Phoenix, Ariz. She is the sister of Mrs. Henry Kuchel of Anaheim. Edgar C. Kahly Called by Death Funeral services for Edgar C. Kahly, 74, were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the new Hiltenfeld mortuary. Rev. Thomas Burden, pastor of the White Temple Methodist church, officiated and entombment was made in Airhaven mausoleum. Kahly, a resident of Anaheim and vicinity for 26 years, died early Sunday at the family home on South Harbor boulevard, after an extended illness. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Alfred C. Bonney of Anaheim; a sister, Mrs. Alice Reif of Illinois; and a grandson, Russell Bonney of Anaheim. Money cannot buy. H. Haggarty, 79, a native of Pennsylvania who came to Buena Park more than 30 year ago, died yesterday afternoon at the Fullerton general hospital as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident one week ago. He is survived by his wife, Lottie H. Huggarty and other relatives in the east. Funeral services will be conducted from the Buena Park Congregational church Saturday at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Cyril Hicks, pastor of the church, will officiate and the Rev. F. Stanley Powles, former pastor, will deliver the sermon. The ritual of the Maonic Lodge will be read at the Meirose Abbey mausoleum.
