Florence, PAGE SEVEN Martin Mrowka, 56, Answers Last Call Last rites for Martin Mrowka, 56, were conducted Monday afternoon from the Hilgenfeld mortuary, with Rev. H. G. Dymmel, pastor of the Bethel Baptist church, officiating, assisted by Rev. O. R. Schroeder, former pastor. Mrowka, a resident of Anaheim and vicinity for 11 years, passed away early Friday morning at the Santa Ana Valley hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two daughters, Mrs. Olga Newton of Santa Ana and Mrs. Lydia Stranski of Anaheim; one son, William Mrowka of Orange; five sisters, Mrs. Louis Schadick and Mrs. Charlotte Maahs, both of Anaheim, Mrs. Amelia Heiman of Los Angeles, Mrs. Martha Wheeler of Pasadena and Mrs. Lydia Raymond of Inglewood, and three grandchildren. The workshop of character is everyday life. The uneventful and commonplace hour is where the battle is lost or won. —Maltbie D. Babcock. Rev. Quatannens Leaving Anaheim A farewell reception in honor of Rev. Father John Quatannens, who has been transferred to the St. Cecilia parish in Los Angeles, was held last Friday evening at St. Boniface parish hall. Father Quatannens has served as assistant pastor at St. Boniface church for the past three years. J. H. Heffron presided as master-of-ceremonies for the short program of the evening. He presented the St. Boniface parochial school orchestra and glee club who lauded the work the priest had done during his stay in Anaheim. A second short talk was given by Rev. Father Edmund Bradley, son of Mr., and Mrs. M. J. Bradley of Anaheim and chaplain at the veterans' hospital in Sawtelle. Rev. Father Henry Gross, pastor of the parish, also expressed his appreciation of the fine work of his assistant and added the prediction that Father Quatannens would have equal success in his future endeavors.
