Clara Butler Dies After Long Illness
Funeral services for Clara Butler, 29, were conducted yesterday afternoon from the Hilgenfeld home. Rev. William Rogatzky, pastor of the West Broadway church of which the deceased was a member, officiated, and burial was made in the Anaheim cemetery.
Clara Butler died Monday evening at a Garden Grove sanitarium after an extended illness. A native of North Dakota, she came to Anaheim when four years old and has lived here ever since. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Philippina Rueter of Anaheim, and four sisters, Mrs. Boyce Crooks, Mrs. Clarance Dickenson, and Mrs. Lydia Standfest, all of Anaheim, and Mrs. Horace Gideon of Los Angeles, and many other relatives.
Pickwick Grill Now Under New Manager
Opened last Saturday by experienced restauranteers, the Pickwick Grill, located in the Pickwick Hotel building on South Los Angeles street is featuring "family style" dinners.

Special Services Slated by Church
Anaheim Church of Christ is planning some special Wednesday evening programs during the month of October, it was announced yesterday by Rev. Den Earl Boatman, pastor of the church. The meetings will begin at 7:15 o'clock and last just 45 minutes.
Rev. Boatman's subjects will be "Crucified by Stupidity," October 9; "How Religious are You?" October 16; "A World of Deceived Men," October 23, and "Where Will You Spend Eternity?" October 30.
A series of evangelistic sermons is also planned by Rev. Boatman on Sunday evenings during the month. The general theme will be "One Thing."
K.C. Meeting Held On Thursday Night
The Anaheim Knights of Columbus No. 1154 held its regular meeting Thursday night. Lecturer Fred Robinson introduced the main speaker of the evening who was Sergeant George Peterkin of the California state highway patrol. He gave a interesting talk on safety and accident prevention on the highways.
Other speakers of the evening were District Deputy Dr. Keller of Pomona and Grand Knight Burkhard of the Pomona council.

OPENED last Saturday by experienced restauranters, the Pickwick Grill, located in the Pickwick Hotel building on South Los Angeles street is featuring "family style" dinners.
Under the management of Milred Maw, former vice-president of Dixie-Lee restaurant chain and former manager of Aztec Tower in Detroit, and Norman Maw, formerly chef with Book-Cadillac Hotels and Hackney's Atlantic City restaurant, the cafe will also feature special dinners on Saturdays and Sundays and a special merchant's lunch through the week.
Gas Company Man Wins Bermuda Trip
Awarded a free trip to Bermuda via trans-Atlantic clipper airship, in recognition of the outstanding part he played in winning a national gas refrigerator contest for his company, W.L.H.Gelldert, Southern Counties Gas company local commercial agent, left Los Angeles for the East at noon Tuesday on the Santa Fe.
He will leave Atlantic City by air on October 10 and transfer to the Pan-American Clipper at La Guardia air field, New York. The 797-mile transoceanic flight to Bermuda will take five hours.
Williams Registers ... High Bowling Score
Howard "Curley" Williams hung up a new high score for a series at the Anaheim Bowling center Tuesday night when he posted a three-game total of 646 pins while his Curley's Cafe and Valencia Market team was defeating the Mutual Citrus Products, Inc., quintet.Williams', crew won all three games and posted a total score of 2643 pins.
Rolling with Williams were Lee Roach, Mike Mercurio, Glenn Kirk and Tilly LeSout.

Three Anaheim Men Close Hunting Trip
Three Anaheim men, Donald Pannier, 321 South Lemon street, Bill Ferris, Euclid avenue, and Archie Henry, 321 South Lemon street, went deer hunting last week at Feather River Meadows, near Mt.Lassen.Henry is reported to have shot two bucks, while Pannier and Ferris each got one.
Mrs.Ida Freeman's Brother Succumbs
Friends of Mrs.Ida Freeman of 224 East Center street were sadened this week to learn of the death Monday in Los Angeles of her brother, W.R.Oliver, 66.Funeral services for the deceased will be conducted in Los Angeles tomorrow morning and interment will be in at Loma Vista cemetery in Fullerton tomorrow afternoon.

Disturbing the peace and assault charges filed against Andrew J.Craige of Fullerton in Anaheim city court recently were withdrawn Monday on Petition of M.G.Cummins, who signed the complaints.
