Slum Clearance Will be Studied New Legislative Committee Established; Other Groups Progress Announcement of another legislative investigating committee, on slum clearance and rural housing marked the third week of California's greatest political "house-cleaning" drive. The committee membership was revealed by Speaker Gordon Garland of the state assembly. Assemblyman T.
