Have you ever thought of giving an Electrical Shower for a bride-to-be?
Most of us have given so many shower parties in our lives that we welcome any new ideas. And we'll wager you will be the first in your set to give this clever kind of an affair.
Write the invitations on small, plain cards, as follows:
"Thunder and lightning, lightning and thunder,
What is the meaning of this, you wonder.
Simply this—an Electrical Shower Is to occur for the bride of the hour."
Add the information about who for, where and when, and decorate the card with a few jagged lines to add to the effect.
Instead of bringing individual gifts, the guests may like to go together and get a collective gift of a piece of electrical equipment such as an electric toaster, waffle iron, coffee maker or a lamp. No better choice could be made to please the honoree, for today's bride delegates many of her cooking and food preparation duties to modern electrical devices.
Refreshments may be served informally and electrically. A waffle supper would be appropriate, with several waffle irons and an electric coffee maker making the refreshments at the tables. Butter-toasted sandwiches prepared at the table on an electric grill are another possibility, or the guests may toast their own bread and make their own sandwiches from a variety of fillings.

Beautification of City is Part of Boy Scout Plan
A plan to beautify the city of Seal Beach and to raise money for Boy Scouts of that city at the same time was put in operation Monday by scout leaders.
The plan, as announced by Scout Leader Walter J. Barrows, provides for planting of flower beds on vacant lots in Seal Beach. The scouts will care for the flowers and will sell them this spring and summer, using the proceeds to finance their trips to camp and other outings.
The boys already have obtained permission from owners to use vacant lots across the street from the City Hall for their project, Barrows reported. City officials have agreed to let the scouts have free water for the work, and to use city equipment in preliminary work on the ground.

A product of Southern California
The Edison Company is as much a product of Southern California as are oranges, airplanes and motion pictures. California men and women, and California money, built the Edison Company and its owners are located throughout Edison territory.
Californians have always owned and controlled the Company, and today, approximately 80% of the 98,025 stockholders are residents of California. Equally important are the thousands of bondholders whose invested savings have helped build the vast network of transmission lines, generating plants, and other equipment necessary to serve the 545,000 customers of the Edison Company.
Many thousands of these customers are also stockholders or bondholders of the Company. Wherever electricity has been needed, in factories and on farms, in towns and on isolated ranches, the lines of the Edison Company have stretched forth to serve the people of Southern California.
Stockholders, bondholders and customers—all have played an important part in making the Edison Company what it is today—a Company owned and controlled by the people it serves. To continue to provide a constant, dependable supply of electricity for business, industry, agriculture and community life is the public service to which this Company is dedicated.
