Center Street Anaheim Electricity has woven itself so inseparably into our lives that its miracles are taken for granted. Its sleepless power leaps to our finger tips to perform tasks which yesterday etched faces and hands with lines of toil. Today, women are awakening to electricity, preserver of youth, giver of freedom. Electricity works wonders in the kitchen. Electrical appliances change an inefficient room into a sparkling, clean workshop where thrilling new equipment eliminates drudgery. First in usefulness is the gleaming electric range which greatly simplifies meal preparation. Famed for spotless cleanliness, a modern electric range also is fast, dependable, and brings to the kitchen a coolness which is especially appreciated during the summer. Side by side in utility is an electric water heater, whose constant provision of hot water is the background for pleasant home operation. Then there is the electric refrigerator, sturdy guardian of food, producer of the family's ice supply and delicious dishes cooked with cold. Newest in the "big five" of major electrical kitchen servants are an electric dishwasher and an electric garbage disposal unit. The latter takes care of waste foods pleasantly, and location of its receptacle at the sink enhances convenience. Dishes are stacked in the electric dishwasher which washes and rinses them and they dry by themselves. Protected are the hands and youth of milady! Obituaries CHARLES A. Newport Regatta Plans Completed This week end marks the third annual renewal of the Newport Regatta. New Zoning Plan Sought by G. G. First steps in a plan to reconsider a zoning project for Garden Grove have been taken by a civic committee, composed of Dr. John Krushaar, president of the chamber of commerce, E. J. Tobias and C. J. Clark. A similar plan was dropped two years ago when heavy opposition was encountered, largely from owners of property outside the built-up section of the community. The commerce group this time plans to ask for zoning in a restricted area bounded roughly by Garden Grove boulevard and Lamson street, and by Ninth and Nutwood streets. Need for zoning in Garden Grove is described by civic leaders as increased by the rapid growth of the community in the past two years.
