National Farmer Group is Studied
Possible formation of a national organization of farmers, ranchers and allied agricultural interests is seen as a result of several conferences held late last week in Ventura. Should such an organization be formed it will be patterned after the Associated Farmers of California, Inc., according to Holmes Bishop, Orange county man who was reelected president of the state group last Friday.
The movement for the national organization came from outside of California, Bishop said. Leaders in the movement are from states where agriculture is the dominant factor.
"There was no desire on the part of members of the Association Farmers of California for a national organization," Bishop said. "At the present time there is committee of seven men, headed by Walter E. Garrison of L.A. Calif., that is studying the California organization and the national organization, if and when formed, will be patterned after California plan."
