State Farm Bureau Head Attends Picnic
More than 1,000 members of the Orange county farm bureau and their families, attending the twenty-first annual picnic of the organization in Irvine park Saturday, heard their group euoligized as the most powerful influence in the United States through which agriculture can reach and maintain permanent prosperity.
This statement was made by Ray B. Wiser of Butte county, president of the California Farm Bureau-federation, headliner on a program which combined community singing under the leadership of Frank Pierce, various stunts, baseball games, special activities for children, dancing, and a musical program by the Orange county farm bureau chorus under the direction of L. M. Sharpless.
LEGAL NOTICE
Orange's Cubs will offer opposition to Anaheim's entry in the National Nightball league tomorrow night at the Anaheim city park in Valencias' third start in the loop. The scheduled game with San Bernardino Tuesday evening was postponed because of wet grounds.
The Valencias are still on top of the league with Huntington Beach as the result of their 6 to 3 conquest of Whittier Friday. String McDonnell, who last year managed and hurled Anaheim to the league title, got poor support from his mates in his first appearance against his former club. Rudy Heman pitched masterfully, the only run that should have tallied coming on a long home run by Jack Schell.
Results Tuesday night found Huntington Beach blanking Whittier 3 to 0, Santa Ana beating Irvine 7 to 2, and Brea conquering Orange, 6 to 2.
WEDDING CHAPEL OPENS HERE
Anaheim gets its first Wedding Chapel in the "Capilla de San Antonio" opened recently by Mrs. Esther Baggart at the intersection of Highway 101 and Manchester boulevard.
Mrs. Baggart can truthfully boast of the most beautifully arranged Wedding Chapel to be found in Southern California.
Many young couples who merely stopped to make an inspection of the attractive surroundings and Chapel have already chosen the Capilla de San Antonio as the ideal place to be married. Wedding ceremonies can be performed by ministers of any denomination and if the couple wishes they can have their own minister.
From the simplest to the most gorgeous weddings in surroundings most attractive may be had at the new chapel at a nominal cost. Mrs. Baggart extends a most cordial invitation to one and all to inspect Anaheim's first and Southern California's Finest Wedding Chapel.
