Three Parties Given in Honor of Evelyn Hilgenfeld Three delightful parties were given during the past week in honor of Miss Evelyn Hilgenfeld, bride-elect of Robert S. Farrar of Santa Ana. Miss Hilgenfeld is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Hilgenfeld of 202 W. Broadway. The first event was a 10:30 o'clock breakfast given by Miss Cora Fulton at her home in Brea last Saturday morning. Guests included Miss Cahrlotte Fulton of Talbert, Miss Alma Ruth Show and Miss Alice Williamson of Anaheim in addition to Miss Hilgenfeld. After the breakfast the hostess presented the bride-elect with a beautiful crystal bowl. Sunday afternoon Miss Wilma Luhring and Mrs. Carl Korn entertained at the home of the former on Ball road with a linen shower. Tea was poured by Mrs. Harvey C. Nunn of Glendora, as sister of Miss Hilgenfeld and herself a bride of last September. An entertaining program was presented during the afternoon. Miss Margaret Hein and Miss Rosemary Ramm sang duets accompanied by Miss Ferne Hein. Jeannine Pannier, three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pannier, gave several readings. Beverly Hess, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hess also gave several readings, one of which her mother accompanied her at the piano. At the conclusion of the pro- Mothers Honored at Sorority Tea Blue and gold, the colors of Eta Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Phi sorority, were used in corsages presented to guests at a Mother's day tea and musicale Sunday afternoon in the home of Miss Margery Patrick on South Ohio street. Mrs. Katie Williams, president, and Mrs. Lucille Maxwell, vice-president, presided at the tea table centered with pink tapers in crystal holders and pink sweetpeas and blue delphinium. Other hostesses were Mrs. Nina Backs and Miss Patrick. In addition to corsages, guests received small boxes of chocolate candy. Potted plants and vases of cut flowers were placed about the home. The tea was the first annual one. Three-year-old Mary Lou Post did a Maybasket dance and recited two verses and Margaret Grinde accompanied songs by Mavis Robb, Opal Fitzgerald and Marian Scott. Entertainers are students of Mrs. Evelyn Goodsell. Members and guests were Mrs. Mary Ferguson, Mrs. Ben Carey, Miss Charlotte Price, Mrs. J. W. Price, Mrs. H. Senior 4-H Club Sponsors Dance A very enjoyable dance was held by Senior 4-H club member of Orange county Saturday evening at the Benson Walnut House at Katella. A large number of 4-members were present as guessthe senior members. Harry Hoskins, Jr., of Anaheim was chairman of the committee in charge of the dance and was assisted by Rose Pelous, senior club president, Bob Cole of Buer Park, Nora Linnartz of Olive, Doothy Leonard, Tustin; Paul Fox Yorba Linda, and John Hasting Anaheim. Miss Olga Steeb Honored at Reception Miss Olga Steeb, internationally famous pianist, is guest of honor at a reception being given this afternoon by the Anaheim Conservatory of Music, 705 W. Center street. Mrs.Anna Siegel is director of the conservatory. Feature of the afternoon is Miss Steeb's playing of a number of piano solos. Arrangements have been made for a six-weeks music appreciation course beginning in June with Miss Steeb as the teacher, Miss Siegel announced. Lucretia Richards is Anaheim Visitor Lucretia Richards, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.Peter Richards, early day residents of Anaheim, was a visitor in this town last Saturday. Miss Richards was born in Anaheim, but moved to Los Angeles when a girl. Maxwell Burke is Seeking Election W. Maxwell Burke, Santa Ana attorney, today announces his candidacy for district attorney at the primary election in August. In addition to being an attorney, Burke has taught in several col­ leges and is a world war veteran. He was for five years a deputy attorney for Los Angeles county where he prosecuted many fam­ ious cases. He has practiced in Orange county for 11 years. “If fearlessness, honesty and experience count, I am sure I can serve acceptably as district att­ ney of Orange county,” Burke said. The carnival will begin with a parade at noon tomorrow and con­ clude with an open-air dance in the evening. The queen, with her attendants, will ride in the parade. Prizes will be given for the most comical car and for the best decorated car in the parade. Prizes of candy, canes and hats will be given as awards at the concessions. The P.-T. A. will sponsor a special food stand as a concession. At 9 o’clock, immediately after the carnival, an outdoor舞会 will be held on the campus. The scene of the dance will be deco­ rated with Japanese lanterns, confetti, serpentine and other gay materials.
