NOTICE OF HEARING OF PETITION TO LEASE PROPERTY
IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF ORANGE.
In the Matter of the Guardianship of the Person and Estate of Laura B. Resh, An Incompetent Person.
Edward Mills, the Guardian of the person and estate of Laura B. Resh, an incompetent person, having filed herein his verified petition spraying for an order to lease certain property of said estate, in said petition and hereinafter described, and alleging that it will be for the advantage of said estate to lease said real property;
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all person interested in the matter of the guardianship of the person and estate of Laura B. Resh, an incompetent person, to appear before the said Superior Court, in Department of the Presiding Judge thereof, at the Court House in said County, on the 6th day of May, 1938, at 10:00 o'clock A.M., then and there to show cause, if any they have, why the real estate hereinafter described should not be leased by the guardian of the person and estate of said Laura B. Resh, an incompetent person, for a period of thirteen (13) months, at a rental of Thirty ($30.00) Dollars per month, or a total of Three Hundred Ninety ($390.00) Dollars for said term, together with an option for an additional term of one (1) year, commencing at the termination of said term, at a rental of Thirty ($30.00) Dollars per month, all upon the terms and conditions mentioned in the lease accompanying and made a part of the petition of said guardian, on file here-in.

WHEREAS, MARY C. HACKLER, a widow, by Deed of Trust dated October 7th, 1936, recorded October 13th, 1936, in Book 842, page 438 of Official Records of Orange County, California, did grant and convey the property therein and hereinafter described.
to the Orange County Title Company, as Trustee, to secure, among other obligations, the payment of one promissory note dated October 7th, 1936 payable to WALTER J. COLE or order, for the principal sum of $2000.00, with interest from October 7th, 1936, at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable quarterly; and
WHEREAS, default has occurred in that the Trustor under said Deed of Trust failed to pay taxes on said land; and
WHEREAS, default has further occurred in that the interest payment due on said note on January 7th, 1938, has not been paid; and
WHEREAS, WALTER J. COLE, owner and holder of said note heretofore demanded that said Trustee sell said property and on January 27th, 1938, duly recorded days if served elsewhere, and you are notified that unless you so appear and answer as above required, the plaintiff will take judgment for any money or damages demanded in the Complaint, as arising upon contract, or will apply to the Court for any other relief demanded in the Complaint.

Disaster Relief Barbecue Slated
Rivalling old-time picnics and barbecues, when everyone turned out to eat all they could hold, run races, and have a general good time will be the fun and food-fest planned by the disaster relief commission of the Orange county American Legion May 29.
On that date Sycamore Grove campground in Santa Ana canyon will be turned over to Legionnaires, who have invited all residents of the county to attend.
Featuring the event will be a barbecue, served by Tony Barries, Santa Ana restaurant man, and Willis Duffy, Elks club barbecue master. Tickets will sell at 50 cents for adults and 35 cents for children. Numerous athletic contests and refreshment booths are planned as part of the celebration.
Funds from the event will be used for the disaster relief commissions treasury and to aid in staging the annual Armistice Day parade.
PICNIC MAY 12
Former residents of Illinois will gather at Sycamore Grove park in Los Angeles for their spring picnic Thursday, May 12. The event was scheduled for a recent date, but postponed because of rain.

Symphony To Play Wednesday Evening
Next Wednesday evening the federal symphony orchestra will present another concert at the Santa Ana high school auditorium with Earl Fraser, pianist and composer, as guest artist. Leon Eckles, federal music project supervisor, will conduct the orchestra.
Fraser is to play Brahms’ piano concerto in B flat major, Opus 83. As part of the orchestral program, Mendelssohn’s "Italian Symphony" will be preformed. Also programmed is the overture to the opera, "Die Zauberflote."
The concert is another of the paid admission performances and will begin promptly at 8:15 o'clock.
Eastern States to Have Joint Reunion
Annual spring picnic reunion for all former residents of New Jersey and Delaware will be held in Sycamore Grove park, Los Angeles, Saturday, May 14. Following the picnic dinner hour there will be a program of entertainment, music and brief addresses.
Pastor of Glendale to Talk at Banquet
Dr. J. Whitcomb Brougher, Jr., of Glendale will be the speaker at the $5 banquet to be given at the White Temple Methodist church next Thursday evening at 6:30 o'clock, it was announced this week.
Musical entertainment will be offered by Mrs. Nelson King, Pomona soloist, and the Mozart string ensemble of Anaheim union high school. Dr. Max Henderson will act as toastmaster.
New Pavilion at Beach Will O

New Pavilion at Beach Will Open
Selection of the official name for new $75,000 dance pavilion at Huntington Beach is expected to be announced within the next few weeks; it was declared this week by Mann, newly appointed manager of the auditorium. A three-festival is being planned for the official opening of the pavilion on May 28, 29 and 30.
