Midget Softball League Formed A four-team softball league for boys 12 years of age and younger who are regular attendants at the city playgrounds is being organized and will start play next Monday, Richard M. Glover, superintendent of recreation, announced this week. Teams will be formed at the high school, Broadway, La Palma and Horace Mann schools. The schedule has been divided into two halves, with the winners of each half meeting in a playoff series for the championship. Games will be played every other day with two weeks required for each half of the schedule. High school opens the league at Broadway Monday, followed by La Palma at Horace Mann on Wednesday, High School at La Palma on Friday, Broadway at La Palma on Aug. 9, Horace Mann at High School on Aug. 11 and Broadway at La Palma on Aug. 13. The second round, starting Aug. 16, is the same as the first round except that traveling teams in the first round will be home teams in the second.
