NOTICE OF SALE OF REAL PROPERTY BY TRUSTEE UNDER DEED OF TRUST TRUST NO. 1149 WHEREAS LULU D. BARBARI, a single woman, by Deed of Trust dated February 24th, 1931, registered March 23rd, 1931 as Document No. 224 on Certificate No. 6341 in the office of the Registrar of Titles of Orange County, California, and recorded March 23rd, 1931, in Book 469, page 105 of Official Records of Orange County, California, did grant and convey the property therein and hereinafter described, to the Orange County Title Company, as Trustee, to secure, among other obligations, the payment of one promissory note dated February 24th, 1931, payable to JACOB E. SCHUMACHER and BERTHA W. SCHUMACHER, husband and wife, as joint tenants, or order for the principal sum of $200.00 payable $1500.00 November 15th, 1931, and $1700.00 November 15th, 1932, with interest from February 24th, 1931, at the rate of seven per cent per annum, payable semi-annually. By written agreement the date of maturity of said note was extended to November 6th, 1936. AND WHEREAS, default has occurred in that the balance of the principal due on said note on November 6th, 1936, has not been paid; and WHEREAS, J. V. HOGAN, RECEIVER, ANAHEIM FIRST NATIONAL BANK, then owner and holder of said note heretofore demanded that said Trustee sell said property and on February 10th, 1937, duly recorded in the office of the County Recorder of said County, in Book 872 page 118 of Official Records thereof, and registered in the office of the Life Guards to Patrol Beaches The county and the Red Cross moved swiftly to bring lifeguards to unguarded county beaches. Dana Lamb, former chief lifeguard at Laguna Beach, will direct a plan which he hopes will see some 20 volunteer lifeguards on the beaches within two weeks. Action came following a drowning two weeks ago on an unguarded beach, which started agitation along the coast for more complete lifesaving service outside of cities. Lamb conferred with Sheriff Logan Jackson, and supervisors voted their approval and name Supervisor John Mitchell to work with Lamb and Jackson. The county will supply a radio car to patrol the coast. Volunteer lifeguards will be trained by Lamb to serve without pay. The Red Cross will provide life buoys for the beaches, and signs will direct bathers to the nearest telephone. Cost will be less than $2500, including a car and an inhalator. The move was approved by the Red Cross Federal Payroll Shows Increase The federal government's payroll for employees alone totalled $127,998,-772 in May. Asserted Murderer is Held to Answer The murder evidence against Gilbert Francis Collie was found to be strong enough to send him into superior court for trial. In a justice court preliminary hearing Tuesday morning, Collie was ordered to be held to answer for the death of George Walker. The order followed testimony by four persons who told the story of the finding of the burned and beaten body of Walker in Carbon canyon in 1931 and of the arrest and asserted confession of the San Quentin convict.
