County Benefits Estimate Given State and federal governments pay out approximately $137 within the next three months. Orange county residents as reps of old age security, blind and children's aid, it was last today by Director Jack Snow of the county welfare department. This will be more than 72% of the total which the department expects to nurse for state aids during the quarter of the fiscal year which starts July first. More than state and federal funds will expended for each dollar which county will provide. Old age security recipients will have $116,000 of the state and local funds, while $17,000 will for children's aid and $4,000 go for blind aid." Snow said. Then the county's share of approximately $40,000 to $45,000 is used the total state aid expenditured for July, August September may reach approximately $187,000." The estimate of federal and funds was drawn up by under new legislation which is possible to estimate ex-fittures for state aids on a laterly basis and to claim this pay in advance. Under for-legislation the county was to claim state and federal only after the money had paid out of the county treasury. The new plan will simplify problem of financing state aid. Newport-Balboa Seaside Vespers To be Continued Going back two thousand years to repeat the services which were carried out on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the Community church at Newport-Balboa last Sunday reenacted the first "Service by the Sea." Twenty centuries ago from the sands of the Jordan, the fisher folk of Bible days heard the "word" from The Teacher who used as a pulpit, a fishing boat. Last Sunday trumpet calls echoing along the shores of Newport Bay called the faithful to worship. Guest speakers from Los Angeles churches assisted in creating a service unique and unusually impressive. Many of those attending journeyed by boat from distant points on the bay. An augmented choir from Orange county churches chanted and led in the community songs of praise. The service, started at six o'clock, was carried out with the slanting rays of the setting sun making an aura of light which added still more to the unusual scene. These services will be repeated on July 11, and others will be held July 25, August 8, 22, and September 5. Patrol Chief Urges Safety on Holidays Expecting the heaviest travel of the season on July 3, 4 and 5, E. Raymond Cato, chief of the California highway patrol, today called upon motorists to cooperate with the patrol in order to reduce highway accidents and fatalities. Travel, usually heavy over the "Fourth," will be even greater this year, due to the triple holiday. Cato believes, and every state traffic officer will be required to work for long periods.
