Tourist Bureau Idea Successful
Indicating the service is an unqualified success, hundreds of visitors from out of state have surged through the All-Year club's free official tourist information bureau at 505 West Sixth street, Los Angeles, since the office opened early this week.
Don Thomas, managing director of the club, declared many visitors said they will stay here longer than originally planned, as a result of the number of vacation attractions which the bureau brought to their attention.
The bureau was located where it is, due to the great numbers of travelers who pass through the vicinity every day, club heads said. It is in close proximity to the majority of ticket and travel offices, which handle transportation wants of visitors to this "friendly vacationland."
Well trained "welcom-ettes," headed by Ruthe Keane, a long time employee of the club, are attired in typical Spanish costumes, which radiate the atmosphere of old California.
Thomas called on southern Californians to send their tourist-friends to the bureau. Its purpose,
MWD Employees Vote On Strike
A vote is being held today in all camps of the Metropolitan Water district to determine whether a strike will be called to aid the tunnel workers in their demands for a closed shop.
First hand information on the situation was received by the Gazette yesterday from an Anaheim man who is employed by the MWD.
Of the 150 men remaining at Derdco camp few, if any, favor calling a strike, the report said. An extra assessment has been made on the men the past two months to support the pickets at Parker dam, he added.
Taxes could be made painless. Just give a lottery ticket with each $10 tax receipt and you'll try to pay twice.
Liquor is already disgusting people and they'll quit it in a few more years unless somebody says, "Thou shalt."
He said, it to extend service to vacationists, that they may gain the greatest pleasure from their trips to the west coast.

City Uses Airplane to Survey Traffic
The bureau of traffic safety of the Los Angeles police today announced that it had an entirely new approach on the city traffic situation. It works from the air.
Following an inaugural flight last Sunday, when especial attention and study was given to congested traffic areas, it was revealed today that the flights would be continued for the next 13 weeks.
The plan of surveying and analyzing traffic from the air has been tested in eastern cities and found meritorious in solving problems and eliminating danger.
The bureau of traffic safety also proposes to inaugurate, in conjunction with the weekly flights, fifteen-minute broadcasts, which will be devoted to instructing motorists.
