To keep in touch with world affairs, Miss Weiss has at her fingertips the latest news and entertainment radio can offer. Interior control of a newly developed outside aerial to bring distance reception when broadcast stations are miles away is a paramount feature of the improved Ford radio for 1957. The antenna assembly is made of rustless steel and there is no loss of efficiency when it is wet. This style aerial is advantageous also in that it in no way interferes with the driver's vision. Poiriers Visit in San Francisco Over Week End Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Poirier of 743 N. Philadelphia street, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Fleming of Santa Ana, spent the past week end in San Francisco. The two couples left here Saturday night and returned late Monday night. While in San Francisco they crossed over both the new Golden Gate bridge and the Oakland Bay Bridge. Twelve-month old Jake Lipe, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Lipe, Jr., formerly of Anaheim, is recovering from a serious illness. Exceptionally heavy catches have been noticeable, with barracuda still leading in numbers. All fishing boats report the presence of large schools of yellowtail and white sea bass. These large game fish are being caught daily and, after a few warm days, are expected to bite more freely. Barge fishermen have been catching halibut, barracuda and mackerel in large numbers with some white sea bass and a few yellowtail. Recently enlarged facilities to handle the crowds of fishermen attracted to the New port area by the exceptional fishing conditions now being encountered were inadequate to care for the demand over the weekend. Hundreds of anglers who had not made reservations with boat operators, who came expecting to board barges or livebait boats, were disappointed in obtaining accommodations.
