Lillian Steuber Will be Featured Concert Soloist
Third of the all-Beethoven programs of Otto Klemperer's six-concert cycle of the German composer's works will be held Saturday night, March 6, featuring Lillian Steuber as soloist with Philharmonic orchestra playing the Third piano concerto of Beethoven under Klemperer's direction.
Californian by birth, Miss Stueber went to New York when she was 15 for four years of study with Joseph Lhevinne. Since then she has received additional coaching with Egon Petri and with Harold Bauer. As an artist she combines sensitiveness and high feeling with intellect. Her great musical ability and her charming personality have combined to make her popular throughout the west. She has recently been heard in Mexico City and as far north as Seattle and Portland. She has been active in Chamber music here and has several times appeared on the same program with John Pennington, the orchestra's concert master.
Klemperer has programmed the Beethoven Second Symphony and his No. VI or "Pastorale," one of his most popular, for the third event in the cycle.

Sale of Frozen Fruit Prohibited
Fifty thousand boxes of oranges, damaged by frost beyond the tolerance permitted by the state fruit standardization inspectors, according to S. S. Rogers, chief of the bureau of fruit and vegetable standardization, state department of agriculture.
In addition to the oranges being held by the state and county men, about 10,000 boxes of damaged grapefruit are also being retained at Southern California shipping points, Rogers said.
Excellent cooperation is being extended enforcement officers by the citrus industry, the chief of the bureau said, a number of arrests have been made and fines have been imposed when violation of the agricultural code has been proven or admitted.
Many counties have appointed additional fruit inspectors under the direction of county agricultural commissioners. The county men work in cooperation with the state officers and it is believed that as the result of the inspection work that the high quality of California citrus fruit entering commercial channels has been maintained.
Advance in Poultry Industry Foreseen
According to Louis A. Federer, manager of the Fedco company and a poultryman for better than 20 years, it is only a question of weeks before the poultry industry will be looking on a more favorable situation.
"Taking everything into consideration, deducting our observations from contacting hundreds of our dealers and thousands of fertility of soil and the abundance of raw materials out of which a sufficient supply can quickly be created.
What do you want for your old age? Do you want the charity and dependence of which life insurance statistics tell or would you prefer the abundance of the Townsend plan method? The future rests with you. Your economic destiny and that of your children will be created because of what you, and other Americans like you decide to do. We are the builders of the commonwealth. The bricks of your ambitions, desires and brotherly interest in your fellowmen or the lack of such will go into the making of the new economic structure being created. A new day is about to dawn in the lives of Americans. More than 20,000,000 of the nation's citizens are enlisted in the Townsend movement to bring about the new day. New recruit are being added every day by the thousands to the Townsend army. In every meeting they take their pledge to make the Townsend plan succeed.

They are now possessed of absolute proof that most men who attain old age are financial failures. Their files show that out of every 10 young men and women who at the age of 20 years start out in life with high hopes of arriving at financial success only one will achieve it. The others who are still living at 65 will be partially if not wholly dependent upon relatives or public charity for support. In other words each of us have only one chance in ten of avoiding being wards of charity in some form in old age. It is not a bright future which faces each of us when we look it squarely in the face.
It should be self evident to every thinking person that there is something radically wrong with the functioning of an economic system that distributes wealth so unjustly. The constitution of our great nation pledges itself to provide for and promote the general welfare of the people. Every man who lives until old age over takes him should be insured against being a recipient of charity. Whether we know it or not every citizen's future welfare in an economic sense is bound up with the welfare of every other citizen. There is no security for any of us unless to a considerable degree we are all made financially secure. There must for the good of all be an elimination of present economic hazards in our national set-up.
Every man or woman who labors and performs services in the every day life of our endeavors as a people is a producer of wealth. Every citizen who during the years of physical and mental ability so contributes of his energies has in pro-rata to the total number of men so employed produced his proportion of all wealth collectively produced...When nine out of every ten men so employed reach old age devoid of any wealth accumulations there is indication that some other man has become heir to wealth productions in amounts which is out of harmony with his production. Unjustly he becomes the possessor of both his own wealth savings and that of his fellow workers. There is no promotion of the general welfare under the operation of economic functioning that segregates wealth so unequally. Why should we longer fool ourselves. Our economic system needs to be over-

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That a petition for change of zone was duly filed with the City Council on the 26th day of August, 1936, and was thereafter duly referred to the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim; that said City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim held a public hearing for the purpose of changing zones on the property hereinafter described, which hearing of the City Planning Commission was held on the 15th day of September, 1936 that due notice thereof has been served by the City Planning Commission on all property owners on all adjacent property, as required by law, and at said hearing, the property owners affected and all interested parties were heard, and said City Planning Commission having duly considered the same did, on February 1, 1937, make its recommendation to the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the zone on the property herein after described be changed.
SECTION 2. That that portion of Lot 47, Anaheim Extension bounded on the north by the Cochin man subdivision, on the east by Walnut Street, on the south by the northerly lines of the West Anaheim Water Company and Manhattan Chester Boulevard, and on the west-by a line parallel with an distant uniformly 130 feet west on the west line of Walnut Street, and the same is hereby changed from the "E" zone to the "A" zone, as said zones are particularly described in said ordinance number 511 of the City of Anaheim.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published once in the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly newspaper published in the City of Anaheim, and it shall take effect thirty days from and after the date of its final passage.

Accumulations there is indication that some other man has become heir to wealth productions in amounts which is out of harmony with his production. Unjustly he becomes the possessor of both his own wealth savings and that of his fellow workers. There is no promotion of the general welfare under the operation of economic functioning that segregates wealth so unequally. Why should we longer fool ourselves. Our economic system needs to be overhauled. It needs to be modernized, and streamlined for the more rapid going of modern life. The life insurance companies know the facts and so should you. They don't guess about your future prospects. They know what they are. They know what your chances are of being a financial success in old age. They have compiled into tabulated statistical information the facts of life. They know that there is nine chances to ten that you will be a positive financial failure at the close of life. It is not a very cheerful picture which the average citizen has to look forward to under the present functioning of economics.
Every American citizen who believes in the promotion of the general welfare should put forth effort to bring changes into the picture of the average citizen's future. It is within the power of the American people to peacefully make the needed changes. Such final chapters as we have been writing into the lives of our people are unnecessary. There is abundant wealth in the nation for every young man and old to have a plenty. If it has not already been produced then we have the number 511 of the City of Anaheim.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published once in the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly newspaper published in the City of Anaheim, and it shall take effect thirty days from and after the date of its first passage.

Tourist Bureau is Sought by Agency
Every county and community in the Southland could benefit from the All-Year club's proposed tourist information bureau, if the bureau can be established, according to a statement today by P. G. Winnett, a director of the nonprofit organization.
The bureau, if sufficient funds can be raised for its maintenance, would be centrally located in the downtown area of Los Angeles, he said, and would direct tourists on trips throughout the entire area.
