Tickets Sold Out
The sold-out signs were hung in the Rose Bowl football ticket office at 10 a.m. Monday morning,
signifying that more than 85,500 persons, the capacity of the Pasadena Bowl, had applied for tickets for the Pittsburgh - Washington game on New Year's Day.
After having worked Saturday and Sunday opening mail and telegrams, the force of 35 clerks at the main office at Pasadena was snowed under Monday morning by an avalanche of applications. Carl Kilgore, manager of athletics for the University, then announced that no more applications could be accepted.
Exact number of refunds can not be determined until the end of the week, it was stated. The sell-out announcement came seven days after the opening of the ticket office last Monday morning.
