Demand For Farm Products Is Expected To Rise During 1937 Increased demand for farm products in 1937 was forecast this week by the bureau of agricultural economics, U. S. D. A. in its first forecast report to the farm advisor's office, analyzing prospective production, supply and demand factors facing farmers in planning their 1937 operations. The bureau, summarizing the prospective domestic and foreign demand, says: "The demand for farm products in 1937 will be greater than in 1936. Most of this prospective improvement in foreign demand also is anticipated. "Changes in domestic demand for farm products are determined largely by changes in the income of consumers and industrial activity. Industrial production is expected to be about 10 percent higher in 1937 than in 1936. The commodity price level also is expected to be slightly higher. It is probable that the national income will be at least 10 percent higher in 1937 than in 1936. "Impaired industrial conditions are noted in some of the important foreign countries which import farm products from the United States. The full benefit of this foreign improvement has not been reflected in exports of American farm products because of the barriers to international trade which have been erected during the past decade and because of small domestic supplies of some farm products which usually are exported." Recent developments in con- important foreign countries which import farm products from the United States. The full benefit of this foreign improvement has not been reflected in exports of American farm products because of the barriers to international trade which have been erected during the past decade and because of small domestic supplies of some farm products which usually are exported. "Recent developments in connection with trade agreements and the indirect effects of devaluation and tentative stabilization of foreign currencies, however, may mark a turning point in the application of restrictions to international trade and have resulted in some improvements in the prospects for larger foreign outlets for American farm products." Despite smaller supplies of certain items due to the drought the United States exports of farm products to Canada, on which Canadian duties were reduced under the United States-Canadian trade agreement were much higher during the first eight months of 1936 than during the corresponding period of 1935. The value of such exports to Canada amounted to $12,744,000 this year compared with $9,379,000 during the corresponding eight months of 1935. Exports to Canada of farm products not included in the agreement were valued at $19,- THE BEST SHOES FOR 4 OUT OF 5 MEN FLORSHEIM SHOES with Flarewedge Physicians say that 4 out of 5 men have "outflare" feet—normal feet that need more room on the outside of the shoe... so Florsheim developed the Flarewedge last. This type of shoe provides that extra room, and ends such foot discomforts as running over, instep corns, pinched and crowded toes. $875 and $10 YUNGBLUTH'S 145 West Center Street EAST CENTER AT EMILY WEST CENTER AT PALM Sales tax included upon all taxable items LIMIT RIGHTS RESERVED ALPHA BETA FOOD MAKES THE BEST FOR LESS OWNER AND OPERATED BY THOSE WHO SERVE YOU STOCK UP NOW!
