FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST
Christian Science)
125 North Philadelphia
The words of the Psalmist, "The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore," constitute the Golden Text in the Lesson-Sermon on "God the Preserver of Man" on Sunday in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass.
The Lesson-Sermon presents these Scriptural selections from Mark about Jesus: "And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught... And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them."
Among the correlative passages from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy, are the statements: "Truth is God's remedy for error of every kind, and Truth destroys only what is untrue. Hence the fact that, to-day, as yesterday, Christ casts out evils and heals the sick."

WHAT'S YOUR HURRY? ARE YOU GOING TO A FIRE?
Some folks hope and believe everything now is being done for the best; but can the ignition in the economic engine, stand up under so much poor gas while folks smile blandly at the old boat coasting along, what will happen when it comes to the final humps in the road loaded with a bunch of flat tires and hitting on one cylinder.
LOOKS ARE SOMETIMES DECEIVING
"Step and fetch it," said a mammy down south, when she heard the big rooster loudly crowing. "What you all mean," said the colored lad, "It's just an old hen sitting on a doorknob."
SENDING UP SMOKE SCREENS
One big party man has already commenced to build his political fences for the fall election, and the braves on the other side have their ears to the ground and are trying to pick up a leader.
BALANCING THE BUDGET
The housewives of the nation can perform a noble deed if they will refuse to buy any article, the price of which has been raised by the speculator in order to fatten his bank roll. You know, there comes a time when patience ceases to be a virtue.
Miscellaneous Exchange
FRIGIDAIRE—Will trade brand new Frigidaire for good used piano. Danz Piano Co., Anaheim.

COME AND GET IT
It has been reported that a statement has been issued from the main stem that nobody shall go hungry in this country.
NO CORE IN THAT APPLE
In some financial circles it is said that this country could stand up under a debt of $70,-000,000,000!
NOT ALL MILK AND HONEY
The way some of the budding geniuses are dropping out of the brain trust organization it looks as though something is shaking the family tree.
BLOWING BUBBLES
If you blow up a toy balloon too much it's liable to burst. It's a good deal like spending a lot of public money to coax prosperity to come out from around the corner in order to balance the budget.
AN EXE FOR AN EXE
It is said the keen middle man with capital and a cold storage plant, has cornered the potato crop. The price has gone up too. If the housewife would stop buying spuds for 30 days, that would take the starch out of rapacious speculator.
