Movies Shown Mineral Society Fullerton Meet The Red Cross building, Arlington memorial and unknown soldier's tomb at Washington were among the many and varied structures shown in a moving picture, "Miracles in Marble," at the December meeting of the West Coast Mineral society in Fullerton Tuesday evening. How sixty-ton blocks are handled in quarries and mills were other instructive features of this two-reel outline of a century's growth of building usage in America's marble industry as visaged by the Vermont Marble company. In addition to the picture, the company supplied photomicrographs of marble sections of fifty-diameter magnifyings, specimens from not only Vermont but also New York, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado, California, France, Belgium and Italy, and an introductory lecture filled with scientific and historic facts. This last was read by A. C. Terrill of Fullerton, who has visited well-equipped quarries in New York and elsewhere. A brief business session was conducted by President F. B. Wallis of Artesia and Secretary J. Scott Thompson of La Habra. The entertainment portion of the program was in charge of B. J. Merrill of Fullerton, himself a rock-polishing hobbyist. Martin Carlson of La Habra and Charles Knowlton of Fullerton showed samples of gem stones found recently in a little-known district. Town Hall, Anaheim, February 11, 1828. A field trip to the Crestmore and Jensen quarries in Riverside county was announced for December 14, in charge of Terrill, who said that more than eighty kinds of minerals have been found at Crestmore, including seven never reported from anywhere else in the world. POTATO HONESTY We don't suppose this new Federal potato control will go so far as to compel waiters to bring hashed browns instead of mashed when you order hashed browns—Worcester, Mass., Evening Gazette. SOUND-PROOF ISOLATION One of the reasons President Roosevelt crossed the continent was to find out what the people think about his administration. It would be interesting to know just how much the President, traveling in his private air conditioned car containing five bedrooms, dining room and observation platform, equipped with radio and finish in mahogany, learned from the people. That is rather sound-proof isolation as far as getting "the feel of the country."—Sioux Falls Argus-Leader. Freedom, social justice, religion. We used to think pretty highly of all three only a short while back. Nowadays we rate it smart to speak of all three os outmoded and obsolet. But they aren't; and in our saner moods we know they aren't. Some day we'll demand to have them back again, and the world will be come again the better world that it used to be—Philadelphia Sunday Dispatch. Adjourned. R. Melrose, Secretary. Town Hall, Anaheim, February 18, 1882. The Board of Directors met in regular weekly session. Present a full board. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. After more than three months of suffering from a nervous all-ment, Miss Glivar used Dr. Miles Nervine which gave her such splendid results that she wrote us an enthusiastic letter. If you suffer from "Nerves." If you lie awake nights, start at sudden noises, tire easily, are cranky, blue and fidgety, your nerves are probably out of order. Quiet and relax them with the same medicine that "did the work" for this Colorado girl. Whether your "Nerves" have troubled you for hours or for years, you'll find this time-tested remedy effective.
