Dr. H. H. Neville was chairman of the day and introduced the subject of the talk. Lyon, who is a student of ballistics, spoke on his hobby, guns and ammunition. He traced the use of firearms from the origination to date, giving some very interesting facts about conditions that affect good shooting. He advocated that if the general populace would increase their ability in the handling of firearms that it would act as a deterent for crime. “If a gunman, who as a rule is one of the biggest cowards we have, thought a person was armed and knew how to use a gun he would hesitate in tackling one. On the other hand as long as he believes that his intended victim is unarmed he will be brave and attempt a crime,” he said. President Rigby finally found out what became of the hat he lost and as a result Mel Gauer paid one dollar. A new member was inducted into the club. Fred W.
