LOCAL BREVITIES Mrs. H. H. Benjamin, retiring president of Anaheim Ebell club, entertained the boys of the board at a lunch on at her home on North Lemoor street, on Sunday last. After lunch on the final executive board meeting for the year was held. Miss Irma Steadman and Miss Pauline Hinds, two members of the faculty of the Lincoln school, leave Friday for Berkeley. Miss Hinds will remain to attend the summer session of the University. Miss Steadman will visit in Berkeley and San Francisco for several weeks before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Heying are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby daughter which was born to them at the Anaheim Sanitarium on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Heying are now the proud parents of four children, one boy and three girls. Miss Lucille Bickley, popular Anaheim Union High school teacher of dramatics for a number of years, has accepted a position at the Huntington Park High school for the next year. Miss Bickley entertained a number of her Anaheim friends at a bridge party at her home in Covina on Friday. Those present were Mrs. J. A. Clayes, Mrs. Ethel Caverly, Mrs. Wm. Cook, Mrs. E. Howe, Mrs. F. Roach, Miss Myrtle Winters, Miss Dorothy Peck, Miss Lois Dyer, Miss Mable Sharp, Miss Lova Holt, Miss Reta Rogers. Dr. Benjamin S. Haywood, pastor of the White Temple church, is enjoying a months' vacation. He and Mr. Haywood left here yesterday morning for La Jolla and other points in San Diego county, where they will visit friends for a few days. From there they go to Yosemite, where the doctor has been invited to preach. After spending a week in the park they will journey northward visiting several places of interest before returning at the end of the vacation period. Chillie Fisher and family came down from Chino to spend the week-end with Dr. Benjamin S. Haywood, pastor of the White Temple church, is enjoying a months' vacation. He and Mr. Haywood left here yesterday morning for La Jolla and other points in San Diego county, where they will visit friends for a few days. Chillie Fisher and family came down from Chino to spend the week-end with relatives and friends. It is believed that Chillie is making a fortune raising oranges in the foothills country. At any rate he reports a bumper crop in his trees for the coming season, and with favorable weather conditions it will add considerable to his bank account. Club Entertains Former Leaders Nineteen past presidents of the Buena Park Woman's Club, the oldest organization in the Southern District and in Orange County, having been established in 1889, were entertained by the club at a luncheon in the Manchester Cafe this week. Other guests were Mrs. Albert Jaumer, Orange County President and Mrs. J. S. Thurston, County Vice-President. Mrs. H. Speidell, President in 1892, told about the building of the Buena Park Community Church, which is now being torn down to be replaced by a modern structure. Mrs. E. M. Stewart, President in 1897; Mrs. S. R. Brewer, leader in 1901, and Mrs. F. Cox, Secretary for fifteen years after the organization of the club in 1889, told of the early problems of the club. A short program included two readings by Miss Jane Sharrod; several vocal selections by Miss Florence Warren, and a musical skit entitled "We'll Have to Mortgage the Farm," given by Mrs. D. Dabney, Mrs. Loughboro, Mrs. Frank Jones and Mrs. J. C. Cole. Past Presidents who were guests were Mrs. H. Speidell, 1892; Mrs. E. M. Stewart, 1897; Mrs. S. R. Brewer, 1901; Mrs. C. L.
