SUPERVISORS' PROCEEDINGS Application of the Associated Oil company for temporary permit to construct pipe line was granted. Map of tract No. 366 was ordered received by the board and submitted to the city engineer of the city of Santa Ana. Petition of Ray G. Burlingame, to vacate and abandon that certain public road in the fourth road district, was granted. The map of Fairhaven cemetery was accepted as official plotting. The chairman was authorized to ap. prove specifications and bond on map of tract No. 327. Map of tract No. 353 was ordered received by the board and submitted to the city engineer of the city of Santa Ana. The auditor was authorized to draw warrant for $100 to G. E. Whilden, secretary Society Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The chairman was authorized to make application to the Pacific Electric Railroad company for an easement of right of way across the Pacific Electric right of way. The county auditor was directed to draw warrant in favor of Santa Ana Realty Board, to J. C. Wallace, secretary, in sum of $300 out of the advertising fund. Check No. 5019 for $300 was ordered cancelled. Tustin road, as paved by Wells & Bressler, contractors, was accepted. The report of the advisory committee on water conservation was ordered accepted and placed on file. The auditor was directed to draw warrant for $5000 from general fund for material in the matter of the construction of a street in the city of Brea. 1923, at 11 a.m., to consummate said purchase. Publication to be made in the Santa Ana Bulletin. Bids were opened in re:road improvement No. 8, B. R. Ford being the lowest responsible bidder, the contract was awarded to him. Price, $40,-570. Map of tract No. 327 was accepted as the official plotting of said tract. Frank K. Benchley, architect, was instructed to prepare plans and specifications for a pavilion at the county park. Plans to be adopted when funds are available. Map of tract No. 360 was ordered received by the board and submitted to the city engineer of the city of Huntington Beach. Map of tract No. 345 was accepted as the official plotting of said tract. Map of tract No. 332 was accepted as the official plotting of said tract, and the chairman was authorized to approve bond on street work. Map of tract No. 363 was ordered received by the board and submitted to the city engineer of the city of Fullerton. The chairman was authorized to sign lease with Dr. John Wehrly for office space for tax collector. The purchasing agent was authorized to move the sheriff's office across the street, where it originally stood. The purchasing agent was authorized to buy a pair of ostriches, the price not to exceed $75. The chairman was authorized to sign cancellation of S. P. R. R. lease at Los Alamitos. The franchise of the Pacific Electric Railway company on Sixth street in Tustin was declared forfeited. The superintendent of highways was directed to close Talbert road until such time as the paving approaches to the Talbert road bridge. Check No. 5019 for $300 was ordered cancelled. In the matter of paving in road district improvement No. 15, a resolution was passed setting date for the hearing of protests for January 2, 1923, at 2 p.m. HELD FOR ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO KILL Pete Arviso and Albert Rizzo, alleged hold-up men who were captured in Tony's cafe, Santa Ana, several weeks ago, pleaded not guilty to the charges of assault with intent to commit murder and assault to rob. Trial was set for January 8 at 9:30 a.m. The two men wee arrested by Patrolmen L. G. Rogers, Sid Smithwick and C. L. Neuschwanger, after Pablo Sanchez, a dishwasher in the restaurant, had disarmed one man and had been slightly wounded by the other. The added charges were filed in an information prepared by Deputy District Attorney C. N. Mozley. Attorney Z. B. West, Jr., was appointed by the court to represent Rizzo, while Attorney Morris Cain appeared for Arviso. SEALED PROPOSALS Sealed proposals will be received by the undersigned Clerk of the City of Anaheim at his office at the City Hall, Center Street, Anaheim, up to Thursday, January 11, 1923, at 8 o'clock P.M. for the delivery of 3000 barrels in carload lots of crude oil for street work. Delivery of oil to be made whenever ordered by the City of Anaheim. Oil to be delivered f.o.b. track. Los Angeles or intermediate points if shipped by rail, otherwise to be delivered at the city's storage tanks at Anaheim. Bidders to state the location of wells from which the oil will be shipped, and also the names of well owners. Terms of payment, cash on second Thursday of each month during such delivery. A certified check for $50.00 must accompany each and every proposal, to be forfeited if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract in accordance with his bid. The Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim reserves the right to reject each and every bid. Said oil must be from 12 to 14 degrees gravity and contain not less than 70 per cent. of liquid asphalt. Bidders must state in their bids the amount of liquid asphalt contained in the oil they propose to furnish. The successful bidder will be required to give a bond in the sum of $500.00, with two sureties to be approved by the Board of Trustees, conditioned that such bidder will faithfully comply with the conditions of his contract.
