Williams, is a carpenter and is working at Anaheim Landing. Mrs. Williams seemed as well as usual on Thursday morning, but was found dead by neighbors on Friday morning, having evidently been seized with a convulsion. A coroner's jury, composed of John Fischer, M. Calisher, Th. Rimpau, Th. Reiser, B. Dreyfus and F. H. Adams, was convened by Justice Clark on Friday. They found by their verdict that the deceased was named Ellen P. Williams, was a native of England, 56 years old and that she came to her death from causes unknown.

A large gathering of representative citizens, irrespective of party, responded to the call published last week for a meeting to nominate candidates for the offices of water commissioners and water overseers. His excellency, E. S. Salomon, governor of Washington territory, favored our citizens with a visit on Monday and in the evening made a fine political address at the Planters' hotel, under the auspices of the Grant and Wilson club. He closed with an eloquet allusion to the bravery of those German people who had left Europe to escape the despotism of the kaiser, who had shot down his own people in the streets of Berlin, simply because they asked for privileges to which they were justly entitled. Despots in Europe desired the overthrow of the Republican party. A speech was

SHOULD NEVER LOSE VOTE
If the ruling that a citizen who happens to move from one precinct to another loses his right to vote at any primary or regular election is accorded to law then the law ought to be changed. No citizen should be disfranchised nor should he be considered as losing a residence until another is established. For voting purposes the law should permit any voter to vote in a precinct where he is registered whether he happens to be living in that precinct for ten or fifteen days before or not.
