The Anaheim high school basket ball team defeated the Orange team last Saturday by a very narrow margin. A series of games will be played during the season by the Orange county league.
The $2,000 rectory which St. Michael's church has been building is completed, and the rector and his wife, who have been camping in Dr. Johnston's office for several weeks are once more at home.
A delegation of ladies from the Ebell society are attending the convention of the California Federation of Women's Clubs at San Diego this week. They are Mrs. Ida Dutton, Mrs. C. E. Chamberlain, Mrs. Ida Tipton and Mrs. C. F. Grim. The convention lasts three days, ending with today.
Llewellyn Griggs is at home again after hob-nobbing for several days with other youthful employees of the Curtis Publishing Company at San Francisco. He had the time of his life while there and can tell the location Bob Rimpau was one of the visitors at Los Angeles Wednesday.

Wickersheim Implement Company will receive another carload of eight Ford touring cars direct from Detroit on the 24th and expect that all of these will be sold upon arrival.
V. U. Simpson drove to Long Beach in his automobile on Monday and spent the day with a number of old-time friends from Red Lodge, Montana, who are spending the winter at that point.
Wickersheim Implement Company expect to have opening day from 2 to 9 P.M. on Saturday, December 13th, at which time their fine new offices, woman's rest room and new garage building will be completed. They will have one of the finest establishment of the kind in Orange county.
Judge Howard has started a movement for the establishment of a law barring all persons not property owners from participating in bond elections, either state, county or municipal. The judge appears to be finding many people who agree with him on the proposition.

The professor was for several years principal of the Anaheim high school but owing to ill health gave up his position and moved to Banning where the dry climate was more suitable to him. William Falkenstein Mrs. Harris, mother of stein, attended the silver anniversary of Mr. and Mr El Monte last Sunday formerly a partner of M in the big department here three years ago. That was an enjoyable affair timate friends of Mr. and being guests.

Ingram Bros. will shortly begin the erection of a Ford garage on the northeast corner of Los Angeles and Cypress streets. It will be 60x125 feet in dimensions with a pressed brick front. The floor will be of cement and the sides galvanized iron. One of the finest garages in the city will house the Ford when it is completed.
The police report that since the election there has been but little business in their quarter, fractures of the peace being few. Two drunks from one of our neighboring dry towns were run in Monday night, but they were registered as merely plain drunks. They had purchased a quart of whisky and gone out into the darkness and consumed it all.

At a meeting of the Orange Commercial Club Wednesday a project was launched to secure a $25,000 city hall for that city. The board of trustees will be asked to call a bond election at once. Orange has a splendid water works and recently put $100,000 into paved streets, and with a rapid growth in the business and residence sections, it is beyond the stage when its city business should be done in rented quarters.
Fred Allec and Miss Louise Eyrand were married by Rev. Father Dubbel at the Catholic church on Saturday morning. After the ceremony the newly married couple departed for their home in France. The groom has been employed by Samuel Kraemer on his Placentia ranch for six years past, and the bride was a resident of Los Angeles, coming to this country from France some months ago.

Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Rea returned on Saturday from Ontario, Canada, after an absence of three months. They visited Toronto and other points of interest in the Dominion, and on their way west stopped at Winnipeg, Banff, Vancouver, and other cities. They report a pleasant sojourn in the northern country, and at Winnipeg and other points found the weather cold.

Sherman Hayden and daughter, Miss Kathryn Hayden, left on Tuesday for their old home at Lowell, Ind., which they have not visited since coming to California 11 years ago. They will be absent a month or six weeks.
Eight hundred people attended the services at the laying of the cornerstone of the new First Baptist church at Santa Ana Sunday. The sermon was preached by Dr. George D. Knights of Long Beach, and the ceremonies at the cornerstone were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Otto S. Russell. Rev. Russell said he thought "13" to be lucky. When the church was organized in 1871 it had 13 members. Rev. Russell is the church's 13th minister, and this is the year 1913.
