He was authorized to purchase water for the purpose of flushing out the tank from a pumping plant in the neighborhood of the sewer farm. Officer Germann's salary, beginning with the first of January, was fixed at $65.00 per month. Upon motion the meeting adjourned. ENJOYABLE SURPRISE PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Edgar J. Hartung's New Home Scene of Much Jollity The new home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar J. Hartung was the scene of much gayety and mirthfulness at 8 o'clock Friday evening when a party of friends, numbering 20 trooped down upon the newly married couple and tendered them an informal house warming. To say that it was a surprise to Mr. and Mrs. Hartung would be putting it mildly. They quickly recovered, however, piloted the self-invited guests into the house, and proved themselves to be a most worthy host and hostess. The party had brought along filled ice cream freezers, cakes and other good things, and upon conclusion of the evening's chief entertainment, which was furnished by whist and "500," these were opened and their contents disposed of. At a late hour the guests departed, after inspecting the new residence, and wishing the worthy couple a long and happy life within its walls. Some of the guests present were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Dickenson, Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Skinner, Mrs. O. Skinner, Mrs. Edith Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Price, Mrs. Thomas Hill, Mrs. John Hartung, and Mr. and Mrs. S.
