Adams, at Tustin. Clarence Lacy and family enjoyed an auto trip Sunday to Los Angeles and the beach towns adjacent there to. Wm. Crowther graced the Shriner parades in Los Angeles last week by marching with Al Malalkah temple. The popular and celebrated Indian and the reliable Harley-Davidson motorcycles are sold by the Wickersheim Implement Co., Fullerton, Cal. Mesdames F. J. and L. Nemetz and Mrs. C. B. Halley were Santa Fe passengers to Elsinore Monday, where they will enjoy a visit of some weeks. Photographers Hudson and Betz-sold were in Los Angeles several days this week attending a meeting of the State Photographers' association. Richard Fischle has awarded contract to Elmer Goodrich for erection of a $2000 residence on Melrose St., which he will occupy when completed with his family. J. D.-Lavin, Miss Lavin and Mrs. Downing went to San Diego on Tuesday to attend the state convention Knights of Columbus. They will be absent until Friday. Fritz Yungbluth and Henry Adams went to Olinda Monday afternoon in the interests of the big Booster trip by the Anaheim Board of Trade to that place on the 23d inst. L. B. Weber, the music man, and Harvey Campbell, one of our prominent orange growers, were taking in the Shriner "doin's" in Los Angeles part of two days last week. Raymond Nebelung and Miss Violet Nebelung will arrive from Berkeley the latter part of the week to spend the summer vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Nebelung. C. A. Schwind of Los Angeles is in town with a view to locating. Mr. Schwind is an architect, and has recently done considerable construction work for Gen. Royer. A certificate has been filed with the county recorder showing the change of the principal place of business of the Anaheim Sugar Co. from Center street, Anaheim, to the factory at the edge of the city. R. Junsen was in town on Monday from the west end. Los Angel's St., Anaheim, Cal. Constable Heard has returned to Santa Ana from San Diego in charge of John Manzo, who fled from this city after cutting Santos Carrisosa Jr. with a knife on April 26. Manzo was at a place fifteen miles east of San Diego where he was held for officers after he was arrested for using a razor in a drunken row. Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson, former residents of Anaheim, but now located in Los Angeles, visited with old-time friends here Sunday. Mr. Sorenson is now interested in establishing agencies for a metal awning on which he has secured a patent, and with which he is doing well. However, he contemplates moving back to Anaheim sooner or later. C. Z. Vander Horck was in town several days during the week from Maricopa, Kern county, where he is engaged in the banking business. Mr. Vander Horck retains his fine orange ranch on North street, which is highly improved property. He is prospering in his new home, whence he returned after several days devoted to business interests here. An amusing stunt was pulled off Sunday by "Dick" Heitshusen at the Orange County Park. He ran his machine up there only to find on arrival that his gas was all gone. Charles Adams, editor of the Reinland, Iowa, Courier, an old-time friend of N.P.Hansen, was in town Saturday, in company of his cousin, Dr.Stoddart and two sons of Santa Barbara.Mr.Adams was a delegate to the Shriner conclave in Los Angeles,and was here on his way to San Diego by auto.Mrs.Adams and Mrs.Stooddart made the trip south by train.The party returned yesterday, expressing themselves as having been delighted with the trip. A horse driven by a Japanese vegetable man created a little excitement on Center street, in front of the Commercial hotel, Monday morning. The animal was seized with an attack of blind staggers, but after awhile recovered and was driven away, much to the pleasure of the Jap. William Ferrand was in town on Monday, having returned from a five days' trip to Elsinore springs. Mr. Ferrand has a touch of rheumatism from which he is seeking relief by hot baths. He left for Brea canyon, where he is superintendent of the Brea Canyon Oil Company. Howard Gates took a number of his Sunday school scholars to Santiago Canyon on Saturday for an outing. A number of girls accompanied the party being champeroned by Miss Inez Gates and Miss Martha Mundell. The day was pleasantly spent in hikes about the hills. The boys enjoyed bathing in a swimming pool, and at noon a basket picnic was enjoyed. P. J. Weisel & Co. report the sale of seven E.M.F. touring cars the past week, to the following parties: E. M. Peelor, Placentia; B. M. Baker, Placentia; Robert Jones, Olinda; B. F. Bell, Anaheim; C. A. Palmer, Olive; C. W. McKeen, Garden Grove, and Fred Deffner, Anaheim. Two Flanders cars were also sold by the firm last week, John Perry of Buena Park and Jake Schumacher of Anaheim being the purchasers. Architects Austin of Los Angeles and Ely of Santa Ana were in town during the week in conference with trustees of the Masonic temple association. Each expressed a desire to prepare plans and specifications for the new $25,000 temple to be erected here. Each asked as a condition precedent to their preparation of plans for the edifice that no other architect be engaged. The trustees declined to adopt their suggestion, preferring to leave competition open to all. They will spend some time in Germany and France, will visit in England, Spain; Italy and other points of interest. They will go to Egypt, view the pyramids and extend their journey to the far east. They contemplate a trip to Japan, in which event they will return by the Pacific. They will be absent until fall. W. E. Packard, superintendent of the Imperial valley experiment station, was a guest of J. B. Neff one day last week. Formal opening of the station, which is an adjunct to the agricultural experiment station at Berkeley, will be held May 25, when a number of distinguished agriculturists will be present, including Prof. Wickson, Prof. Shaw and Prof. Bioletti of Berkeley. Mr. Neff will be one of the speakers at the meeting, which will have for one of its features a basket picnic attended by farmers from the entire countryside. Megede who is a director in the Walker-Klauser Oil Company, which has taken a lease on lands on the Tuffree ranch adjoining the Amalgamated, and is now sinking its first well, states he is not yet ready to dispose of stock to local purchasers. Mr. Megede is anxious to form a joint-stock company of the enterprise, but Los Angeles capitalists are so favorably impressed with it that the company may be made a close corporation. A number of citizens have applied for stock, deeming the company one of splendid possibilities, but Mr. Megede is not yet able to place stock on the market.
