Harold Cordes who was taken to the Fullerton hospital two weeks ago suffering with an attack of pneumonia, has returned to his home here, greatly improved in health. Sleffel and wife of Kansas, who have been spending several weeks with relatives here, leave tomorrow for Texas. Mr. Sleffel goes to Kansas City on business, and will later return to Texas, when he and his wife will tour Mexico before returning to their home in the Sunflower State. Montgomery and family have returned from Oak Glenn, where they have been the past two months. Mr. Montgomery reports a fail of snow on the ground Sunday week, and the weather cold in the upper valley. Oak Glenn is a celebrated apple country. One grower harvested 15,000 boxes from 55 acres, which he sold at $1.25 per box. Mr. Montgomery prefers this section, and will remain permanently. A meeting of Knights of Pythias will be held this evening at Masonic hall at 7:30 o’clock for the purpose of taking preliminary steps for organizing a lodge here. Col. An invitation is extended all Knights of Pythias to attend, and to bring with them such of their friends as may be agreeable to joining the lodge. Falkenstein’s display windows. Estella Margaret Fox, the fourteen-months’ daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fox, died early on Saturday morning, of pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. Burial services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Rev. Moore of the Methodist church. Many friends were present. The choir of the Methodist church sang hymns. Interment was made in Anaheim cemetery. Heating stoves at Dickel’s. Ed Zeus dropped in from the north this week to spend Christmas with his folks here. Ed has been on a trip around the world, a recent letter from him printed in these columns and forwarded from Hamburg, dealing with sights seen on a voyage through the Suez canal and other points of interest in the old world. Ed has been getting the glad hand from his old-time friends, who are delighted to meet up with him again. Oil Heaters at Dickel’s. Harold Moore, traveling passenger agent of the Santa Fe, was in town on Tuesday, bringing tidings of great joy about the San Diego fair in 1915. Mr. Moore stood on the fair grounds the other day and saw to the north the snow-covered peaks of Old Baldy and Grayback 100 miles to the north. To the west were the Coronado islands.“The most beautiful site for a world’s fair in the country,” he terms it.The fair will be held, despite San Francisco’s purpose to hold a fair of its own, and all of Southern California is with the southern city. Manager Grim had no relish for the idea of paying $6 demurrage upon each car, and the harder it rained, the harder the men worked. Hot coffee and sandwiches were served the men on Thursday, during the heaviest downpour. The consignment was unloaded within the stipulated time, and no demurrage charges were imposed. An appeal has been taken to the Superior Court in the suit of Skinner & Dickenson against the Olds Gas and Power Co., in which Justice Howard gave judgment for $89.55 to plaintiff for auto repairing. Miss Elpie Deakins of this city was married at 11 o'clock at Santa Ana on Tuesday to Hans C. Vogt of Westminster. The ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian parsonage, and Rev. J. A. Stevenson officiated. The regular meeting of the literary society of the Y.M.C.A. will be held in the rooms on South Los Angeles street this evening. An interesting program has been arranged.
