When Alfonse Salazer fired a load of birdshot into the back of his stepfather, Julian Teran, at Smeltzer, last Monday night, it was not the first time the boy has attempted to murder Teran. The officers have learned that last November Salazar held a shotgun on Teran and pulled the trigger. The gun snapped, else Teran would not have been alive to receive the terrible wound inflicted upon him last Monday.
Teran who has a ragged hole below his left kidney as big as a dollar, and four and a half inches deep, is still alive, with chance of recovery increasing. The boy has not been caught.
