Edgar entered into collusion with the Los Angeles Inter-Urban Railway Company to put down the market price of Hagar's land in the condemnation suit brought by the railway company for a right of way across Hagar's land below Balboa. The four men were called in the trial of the case and declared that the land sought to be condemned was worth only a few dollars an acre. These facts, says Hagar, he did not know during the trial and he seeks a new trial that he may get greater damages for the land condemned.
