ANAHEIM, Infamous Legislative Act Continued from Page 1 ange county and added to Los An county, and Whereas, The territory propo Infamous Legislative Act Continued from Page 1 RESOLUTIONS The merchants and manufacturers' association of Los Angeles on Monday passed the following resolutions against the Stanton grab: Whereas, A bill has been introduced in the state legislature, having for its object the annexation of part of Orange county to Los Angeles county; and Whereas, To our knowledge the people of neither county have expressed a desire for such action; and Whereas, In our opinion no necessity or cause exists for the division of Orange county and the addition of that territory to Los Angeles county; therefore, be it Resolved, By the board of directors of the merchants' and manufacturers' association that public policy and the mutual interests of both counties as they exist at the present time, and we therefore urgently request our delegates to the legislature to vote and work against said bill. By the board of supervisors of Orange county, California: Whereas, A certain bill has been introduced into the legislature of this state for the purpose of changing the boundary line between Orange county and Los Angeles county, whereby certain territory will be cut off from Orange county and added to Los Angeles county, and Whereas, The territory proposed be cut off from Orange county fully belongs to this county and contains an important part of this county which has been developed in Orange county to a condition which may an important part in its taxable sources, and Whereas, Orange county is now since its formation has been by far smallest of the Southern Californiest counties, and that this county is small in territory and resources successfully be conducted at this and Whereas, The board of supervisors of Orange county has always been favor of and advocated the interest all parts of the county and especially of the territory proposed to be cut and Whereas, The territory proposed be cut off has always had its full scope of taxes levied for road, school other purposes, and Whereas, No request or petition ever been presented to the board of supervisors by the people residing said territory for the purpose of ting off said territory, from this city, and Whereas, The proposed change conceived and is fostered by real estate speculators for their own advantage and not for the benefit the resident taxpayers of the second involved, therefore, be it Resolved, by the board of supervisors of Orange county, That it most phatically protests against the proposed change of boundaries and S. And be it further Resolved, by the board of supervisors of Orange county, that a copy of these resolutions be sent to our represen­tatives in the state legislature and to the chambers of commerce and man­ufacturers' associations of Los Angeles, Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange, Huntington Beach and Santa Ana, requesting them to use all lawful means within their power to defeat this unwise and unjust measure.
