Vinol is fast superseding old-fashioned cod liver oil emulsions because, without a drop of oil disagreeable feature, it contains all the medicinal elements of cod liver oil, actually taken from fresh cods' liver. By our process the oil, having no value either as a medicinal food, is separated from the medicinal elements and thrown away. Unlike old-fashioned cod liver oil and emulsion Vinol is deliciously palatable, agreeable to the weakest starch, and therefore unequaled as a body builder and strength creator for old people, puny children, weak, run-down men and women, after sickness, and for all pulmonary disease. Everything Vinol contains is named on the label.

R. G. Dun and Co.'s Monthly Review for October In Southern California
The month of October saw ending of a most successful sugar campaign and the threshing and sacking of an unprecedented bean crop. The beet harvest averaged about 15 per cent sugar content. Oxnard turned out 400,000 sacks, 100 pounds each, of white granulated sugar, Chino 98,500 sacks, Los Alamitos about 120,000 sacks. The price advanced during the month which would indicate that the trusts and independents had come together in San Francisco. The delay in harvesting and the heavy crop, about 525,000 bags, caused a rush in the bean fields of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Warehouses were crowded but are being rapidly sent forward at a rate of 10 to 15 carloads daily. There seems to be some effort made to hold off buyers, to force lower prices. Celery is now being shipped. Conditions are excellent for a profitable season.
The shipping season has opened for 1905 citrus fruits. Orchards are in good condition but fruit is ripening slowly. However, for Thanksgiving trade from November 20th to December 5th, shipments of navels are expected to be about as heavy as last year—$1 25 to $1 80 a box is price quoted. There seem to be quite varying estimates made of size of coming citrus crop, but it is likely about same number of carloads will go forward, no more. Wider markets promise better returns for navels. Rate question is still a disturbing factor but shippers are hopeful that this may be satisfactorily adjusted. Lemons ruled well

Rate question is still a disturbing factor but shippers are hopeful that this may be satisfactorily adjusted. Lemons ruled well during the month, under modern demand. The California lemon is no longer discriminated against in eastern markets and as a full crop is coming in the financial outlook is good for lemon growers.
The general features of the canned fruit and vegetable market remains unchanged. The output has been mostly shipped and stocks in Southern California canneries were never so low before at end of packing season as this year. Tomato packing continues and the pack will be an average one. There is an active demand for this product at $40 a ton net to growers. It is reported that late choice tomatoes are bringing $60 a ton in eastern markets. The tomato grower, with such returns, lines up with the orange grower netting $5 per box.
In cured fruit market the center of stage the past month has been held by raisin products. Higher prices for peaches and apricots are prophesied and eastern jobbers are showing a keen interest in prunes, especially large sizes.
Mining is active, oil production increasing. Business in all lines is exceedingly good. Money is easy and ready for legitimate investment. During the month the Pacific Coast Construction Co. was organized for the purpose of erecting in Southern California a $2,000,000 beet sugar plant.
Failures for month 15, liabilities $64,000, assets $30,000. Same month last year 16, liabilities $62,000, assets $35,000.

They are then washed and thoroughly dried, being generally spread in the sun for that purpose upon canvas or old sails. Sometimes the sponges are bleached by being passed through a solution of white lime and water so weak as not to injure the fiber of the sponge.
Better Luck Than He Thought.
A young man who had received the privilege of shooting over the land of a farmer got rather close once or twice to the home and the ground adjacent to it. Later in the day, the Country Gentleman says, he met the farmer.
"You've had pretty good luck," said the farmer.
"Well, no," said the young man hesitatingly. "I haven't had any luck at all."
"Yes, you have," repeated the farmer. "This morning you just missed my best Shorthorn."
Carefully Guarded Tea.
The tea used in the Chinese royal household is treated with the utmost care. It is raised in a garden surrounded by a wall, so that neither man nor beast can get anywhere near the plants. At the time of the harvest those collecting these leaves must abstain from eating fish that their breath may not spoil the aroma of the tea, they must bathe three times a day and in addition must wear gloves while picking the tea for the Chinese court.
