OUR SUPER Complete in This Town Total vote of the Various Precincts Vote Four Years Age, and the Increase Imperial Progress of the Southern Superior District Below is presented the vote of the Fifth supervisor District. The names of voters in this project are taken from the Great Register, as also the total number of votes in the various other prosecutions. The figures show the wonderful growth of the various localities in this district within the past four years. Santa Ana shows a truly imperial growth and leaves off with 1,500 votes. Its present vote, compared with that in the last election for governor, four years ago, shows an increase of about 175 per cent. Anahona also shows a very healthy gain. Jose Orange between these two elections will now be a rivalry for the place of second importance in the district. Norwalk is the third place with a substantial increase in population since taking a growth of over one hundred percent. Westminster has an increase of 68 votes and Garden Grove a population of enhanced by 14 votes. The increase in the other prosecutions in that portion of the district is also healthy. A thousand people are about what that computation of the physical growth of the county. El Medina shows a voting population of 91 when half years ago, the charming little place was linked down Yebas and Artesia have also grown space. The aggregate growth of the population of the district is thus seen to be no less than 14,000. Arose our trance as satisfactory as any local health this summer. The legislator does not show the strength of his force which will probably poll some seventy five votes. Our robust governor was altogether unknown four years ago. The springing up of a vigorous town at our very dawn august will for the development of our settlement which has made its increase within the past few months. With this satisfactory beginning no one may say what our impulse shall be within the next four years. The development of our settlement yet in its primary stages, and A DISFRANCHISED DISTRICT. Voters at Buena Park Not in the Political Map. A singular mistake has made board of Supervisors in fixing the bounds of voting precincts for the coming election. Three sections at Buena Park have been removed from the political map, and the question is whether this change affects the electoral boundaries. THE AVISA DISTRICT DEFEATED The Wright Act Relected by Twenty-Two Votes. A private letter to the Gazette from Azusa conveys the intelligence that the election held there for the purpose of voting upon the proposition of incorporating under the Wright bill had been defeated by twenty-two votes. Twenty nights occurred in the Azusa district during the day between partisans for and against the measure. Money was lavishly expended, and intimidation was brought to bear upon farmers who were in favor of the district. The election was the most exciting ever held at Azusa. Repartisists who have a monopoly of water are the ones who conspired to defeat the district. The people there have the sympathy of all lowers of fair play, and the wish is general that they may yet originate themselves under the Wright bill. The district will in all probability be petitioned for again. PERSONAL MEMBERS Mrs. Dorra Zayn is expected back from her visit to San Francisco shortly. Mrs. L. F. Lewis of Los Angeles was in town during the week, and left for home yesterday. Wm. Hillier and Al. Seibert took in the Coronado excursion on Saturday, and report having had an enjoyable time. Mr. Gustave Heimann of Los Angeles was in town during the weeks visiting friends and relatives. Adolph Rimpan is in San Francisco on a business trip. It is expected he will return on Monday, and will bring a large stock of new goods with him. Mr. and Mrs. H. Werdler, Mr. and Mrs. R. Linelke and Mrs. Motz went to San Diego last Saturday on the Coronado excursion. Fossek, a German lady, residing on corner of Clementina and Davis strenza, desires to give lessons in fancy work, etc., and in the German and French languages; also instructions on the xithor. Consultation between 3 and 4 p.m. daily. A DISFRANCHISED DISTRICT Voters at Bucena Park not to be board of Supervisors in fixing the bound of voting precincts for the coming election. Three sections at Bucena Park have been from the political map, and the quarries, where are they to vote? The Park at present without a road district, has been by some curious mistake separated from all districts in that neighborhood. There are about a dozen or fifteen residents in the disfranchised territory they are destined to have some trouble voting, if the evil be not remedied. Claimed that these voters are almost as Republican, and the Republican wag in dancouncing the "gerrymander" matter will probably be settled by attacking the sections to Artesia voting precinct, other curious freak of the divisional map is the havoc created in Hope voting precinct. Some five sections territory upon which among other buildings the schoolhouse, have been taken the former district and tacked on to transport. In the re-districting the Democrat aspirant on last Weekend, who it is would have had no opposition in his car was transferred from New Hope into port township. Whether he will be all the emergency and stand for Overseer in district so ruthlessly thrust upon him mains to be seen". It seems that grossness has characterized the work on Board of Supervisors. A statement was made yesterday that supplemental boundary will be made by Supervisors, and that voters at Bucena Park will cast their ballots at Norwalk. FULLERTON NOTES Course of the Sandwash-Math Matters-Notes. The meeting held on last Weekend Fullerton for the purpose of considering adopting a course to pursue in changing wash and protecting the property in neighborhood was largely attended committees was appointed to take this in charge and superintend the work R. F. Porter, P. Schumacher and Browning. The out-off between this town and one of the Santa Fe men expressed his will be taken up before long, or when VENTS OF THE WEEK. He also added that the Santa Fe system through Southern California has no many stations and站亭 to stop at on account of land agreements; she that they would not consider any more preparations for stations etc., as the trains were now delayed and it was impossible to make time with the innumerable stations they were compelled to stop at; not to consider the great expense of building the name. The days of wildcat houses and specialization are over. It makes but little difference to our community whether the Riverside train is compelled to go via Orange or net; as we get the train accommodation just the same and have all the train service we could wish for at the present time. J. von Schmitt and wife have sigged rooms at the St. George Hotel for the season. Mrs. F. Coy who has been visiting at the house of A. Hutchinson has returned to Los Angeles. Quite a delegation of young folks attended the hall at Anahonda last Friday. A parting aid was given Mr. Lape by his friends at Fullerton on Wednesday last. They wished him trod-spread and that he might again return to this favored land before many months. Our barber Mr. Freeman has moved his family from Long Beach to Fullerton, and has taken apartments in the Wilshire block. The debate between Monera Wilshire and Ford (whether protection would increase wages or not) was held at the St. George Hotel and was well attended. There will be a meeting of all persons both old and young in our vicinity for the purpose of forming a Literary Club and Debating Society. All are cordially invited to attend, the preliminary meeting to be held on Friday evening in the Wilshire block. The pollers of election of the Fullerton precinct have appointed the following gentlemen to act as clerks in the coming election: Edwin Clark; Democrat; and L Peekham Republican. Our station agent Mr. Kitto has resigned his position at Fullerton for a more lucrative position at The Needles. T. F. Williams of our town has made application to the Santa Fe Railroad for the position of depot master, made vacant by the resignation of Mr. Kitto. We wish Mr. Williams success as we think he would be a desirable map for the place. Mr. Leilig and family have moved to the Lincoln house on First street Los Angeles which house they have leased for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Walker have taken possession of the St. George Hotel and are prepared to entertain all guests that desire to stop in the vicinity in as good style as any hotel in the county. The election held at Fullerton on Saturday last for the purpose of voting on the bonds of $8,000 for our new schoolhouse deserved unanimously in favor of floating the bonds, and the same will be put on the market before long. Kleinigkeit. The electric hall system at the Hotel del Campo was completed this week. Martha K. Burry has been appointed Postmaster at Savannah this county. The City Salons had no quorum yesterday, and the meeting of the Board was postponed until next Wednesday. Sarah K. Sarron widow of T. R. Sterna Downey, has been granted a Mariana-woman by the Government. Signara Marchatti, sainted by other artists, might at the Opera-house on the evening of the 21st instant, fork benefit of Mr. Ferrari. Hon. L Gottenchalk announced to speak in Anaheim to morrow evening. This will probably be the last political speech here during the campaign. "Uncle Billy" Williams will speak in Santa Ana to morrow evening and the Republics of that city are moving to make the final wheep-up the largest of the campaign. It is rumored that a wedding in high life is soon to take place here, the contracting partner doing a society lady of great beauty and a gentleman well known in singing circles. Attention is directed to the advertisement of William McIntosh which appears in our columns this morning.Mr McIntosh is an experienced galvanized iron corrosion maker, tinmith and plumber and deserves a share of the public patronage. Smythe announces himself this morning as a candidate for re-election as constitutive in this township.Fred is one of our popular young men,not only among the ladies, but among the voters too,and will in all probability be elected by a large majority. Miss Lucy McIlimod,a Santa Ana school teacher, has been missing for about a week. She left that town some days ago for the ostensible purpose of visiting her relatives in Los Angeles, since which time she has not been seen. The police suspect that a young man named Golf knuwa of the young lady's whorehouse. The new organ bought of Pellegrin Bros., Anaheim, for our church is a fine sale and a great addition to the church. ANAHEIMERS ABROAD. Townpeople at the Ohio centennial Family Gathering. EDITOR GAZETTE — The Ohio Centennial has among other exhibits that of California; its fruits and flowers, grain and minerals, the wealth of the redwood and pine, canned and dried fruits and displays of wines. All tend to show the productiveness of the soil and the energy of the people of your State. When in the grand parade, the largest ever known here, California bore herself well, her delegation being perfect in height and physique and uniformed to a dot. Thus has the State at large been represented here. Later, at a Republican barbecue, I met an exhibit from Anaheim in the person of N. H. Mitchell, one of your citizens. The State's display was laid away in memory as I looked on his proportions and heard that laugh; and see him partake of the roast ox and other good things prepared for the inner man. How I envolved him his health and appetite, and wondered if it was all the climate of Anaheim or the disposition of the man to "laugh and grow fat." Upon his invitation I made the acquaintance of Mrs. Mitchell and the children, hearty and healthy representatives of Anaheim life and society. If you raise such men and women in Anaheim, what must the products of your soil be? They must be immense. I understand Mr. Mitchell and family found many friends to entertain them after his long absence and many regret his visit will be so short. In my going and comings I frequently met the parties and know the welcome they received was sincere. And in the following reunion notice I send you can see how happy the family friends were to see their kind faces and welcome Mr. Mitchell to a home he left a quarter of a century ago. Three generations assembled at the home of Mrs. H. N. Mitchell, on the afternoon of October 6, 1858, in a family reunion. The first for twenty-five years. The last reunion being February 16, 1853—at the marriage of the oldest daughter. Since that time death has claimed three; and there have been added by marriage; three; by birth; five. As the family gathered around the hospitable board, they were surprised with souvenirs of decorated Buckeye plaques, with name of each present, accompanied with autumn leaflets. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Williams and daughter, of Jersey, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Mitchell, Miss Ella and Clyde Mitchell. Afterpartaking of the good things provided, the family united in singing "Bleat be the tis that bind," followed by family reminiscences from I. B. Williams, Mrs. N. H. Mitchell, and W. A. Mitchell, Mrs. I. B. Williams responding with a few happy thoughts. The closing feature of this ever-to-be-remembered occasion was a photograph of the entire group under the widespread branches of the old silver popular. Miss Lucy McIlimod, a Santa Ana school teacher, has been missing for about a week. She left that town some days ago for the ostensible purpose of visiting her relatives in Los Angeles, since which time she has not been seen. The police suspect that a young man named Guffa knows of the young lady's whereabouts. Hon J. E. McComas, Republican candidate for Senator, has overworked himself during the campaign and he is now quite ill at Pomona. All of his engagements have been cancelled for the present. Major Hamlin, candidate for Auditor, who assured us that he would lie Anheim during the campaign, has been lying seriously ill for some time past at his hemo in Glendora. The social hop of the Anaheim Orchestra at Music Hall on last Friday evening was a thoroughly enjoyable affair. Dancing was continued until small hours at the morning, and when the participants dispersed it was with the wish that these social hopes be continued regularly during the coming winter. The committee appointed to go before the Board of Supervisors on Monday, when the petition for our irrigation district will be heard, are requested to meet Kroeger's Hall on Saturday next at 3 p.m.; to take into consideration matters of importance pertaining to the matter for which they were appointed. It is very important that a full membership be present. We acknowledge with thanks the receipt of the third biennial report of the State Board of Horticulture, containing among other valuable matter an extended illustrative essay upon the orange scale and other articles; and various remissions for their termination. The report is especially interesting to our orange growers, and can be seen by application to this office. I. A. Desmond informs na that he has decided not to receive dispatches upon the night of the election in view of the fact that Mrs. Bates, operator for the Western Union Company, will receive dispatches of the election at her office. Mr. Desmond will transfer the collections made by him for the purpose to Mrs. Bates, who will be assisted by Mr. Darling on the evening of the election. Anschlag has but fifteen days more of life. He will be hanged two weeks from to-morrow. In an interview with a visitor a few days ago the condemned murderer spoke among other things of insanity prevailing in his family, and intimated that he was not alone in committing the horrible butchery at darden Grove. However, this story does not tally with the statement made by him during his trial. It is understood that the Sheriff is in constant receipt of applications to witness the hanging. A well-known Democratic enthraser of Anaheim, coming down from Los Angeles on Monday's train in company with a Santa Ana Republican, remarked thinking that the Santa Ana gentleman embraced the same political faith as himself, that this side of the river was solid—everything had been fixed from Cleveland down. After listening to the dessertation for a short time the Santa Ana man replied that everything was rather solid upon his side of the river, and that Harrison and Morton would come out of the valley with the largest majority ever recorded. Parties having firewood of any sale will find a ready market for applying to Charles Schindler, Anna Hauser etc. The authorship of the dramatic performance attributed to the last of the above agitating literary circles to the view but affects practical masses far beyond momentous question; how to preserve health; essential mental activity; business success "pursuit of happiness." We can more light on this latter subject most profound Shakepear can subject first propounded. If they depleted, the nerves shaky; if indulged constipation bother one at times stamantly; ifthe skin is yellow and thirsted for its billionness; if there are tories; twigges of oncoming rheumal neurologia; if the kidneys are imminent Hostatter's Stomach Bitterness; recurrent of an age profile in beneath successful remedies. Remember, it threatens or afflicts that it neutrifies poison and fortifies the system. Second-Hand Wagons: Two spring wagons—two-spring spring-second-hand: Cheap for oily ply to S.A.Dennis. Roadmaster Patty found in front man's store a few days ago a hair ring with initials inside. Own same by applying to Mr. Paty and property. At Bueno Park Not Upon the Political Map. Singular mistake has made by the Supervisors in fixing the boundaries and precincts for the coming election. Sections at Bueno Park have been left without a road district, having some curious mistake separated all districts in that neighborhood. There are about a dozen or fifteen voters in the disfranchised territory, and are destined to have some trouble in if the evil be not remedied. It is said that these voters are almost solidly Italian, and the Republican wag is loud announcing the "gerrymander." The will probably be settled by attaching sections to Artemia voting precinct. An curious freak of the devilers of the map is the haroo created in New voting precinct. Some five sections of city upon which among other buildings the schoolhouse, have been taken from farmer district and tacked on to New- In the re-distributing the Democratic hat for Real Overseer, who it is said, have had no opposition in his canvass, was transferred from New Hope into New-nowship. Whether he will be alive to emergency and stand for Overseer in the so ruthlessly thrust upon him, re-be seen. It seems that gross carcasses has characterized the work of the of Supervisors. Statement was made yesterday that a manal boundary will be made by the prisoners, and that voters at Bueno Park must their ballots at Norwalk. PULLERSON NOTES: meeting held on last Wednesday at Boston for the purpose of considering and being a course to pursue in changing the and protecting the property in the borhood was largely attended. A notice was appointed to take the affair large and superintend the work, viz., Porter, P. Schumacher and L. Lining. Cut-off between this town and Richland has been indefinitely postponed, but as the Santa Fe men expressed himself, they taken up before long, or when there THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC Probability of an Emily Construction of the Tustin Branch. The Southern Pacific Railroad Company are at the present moment very active in gathering details respecting the San Diego harbor, its wharfage, etc. Matters of this nature have been telegraphed for within the past few days. In some instances the telegrams were the length of a long latter, so many were the details asked for in a single dispatch. The Southern Pacific Company have recently filed a deed of trust in San Francisco for $38,000,000 to the Central Trust Company of New York, conveying all the property of the company, and of all the branch roads amalgamated with it last spring. Many of these branches are in Southern California. Some of them are not yet built. Among the latter are the lines from Tustin to San Diego. It is given out by an official of the company at San Francisco that there are two roads recently built upon which there are no bonds issued, one running from Tracy up the west side of the San Jacqueline valley. The other is a line 106 miles long from Fresno along the foothills. A line 125 miles long is now building from Templeton to Santa Barbara. It is proposed to issue fifty-year bonds on the new reads, and thus secure funds to build other branches. The debt of trust aforesaid is expected to add greatly to the value of the bonds. The consumption of this financial arrangement means the completion of the Southern California branches, among them the Tustin line. The activity in gathering information relating to San Diego harbor gives color of probability to this surmise. Another thing that points in the direction of a possible movement in this neighborhood, is the suspension, some weeks ago, of work on the projected Southern Pacific improvements at San Pedro. When this suspension occurred it was reported with some show of reliability that the company was considering the expulsion of abandoning the San Pedro improvements entirely, pushing on to San Diego and making that point their Southern California port. A well-known Democratic enthusiast of Anaheim, coming down from Los Angeles on Monday's train in company with a Santa Ana Republican, remarked thinking that the Santa Ana gentleman embraced the same political faith as himself; that this side of the river was so solid—everything had been fixed from Cleveland down. After listening to the dissertation for a short time the Santa Ana man replied that everything was rather solid upon his side of the river, and that Harrison and Morton would come out of the valley with the largest majority ever recorded. Messrs. N.E.Hawitt, T.E.Rowan, J.W.Venable and Onri Ballis have a card in the Los Angeles papers, saying: "We were nominated by the Democratic party of Los Angeles county and pledged ourselves to support the platform of the national Democracy, and we have not pledged ourselves to indorse the platform or principles of any other party, nor have we promised in case of election to appoint or employ in-official positions citizens of any particular class." The letter probably refers to the action of the American party, which took occasion some times ago to place Messrs. Rowan and Hewitt upon their ticket. The assertion by D.W.Fauld, Republican candidate for Public Administrator, that if elected he will appoint no one to clerkships in his office, is costing him heavily in votes throughout the county. The performance of "She" by the Webster-Braaly company at the Opera-House on Tuesday evening was by far—the best entertainment we have had here for many a day. The stage setting was superb and the acting of more than common merit. Miss Boyle as Ayashe showed herself to be an actress well qualified to fill the difficult role. Miss Biggar at Udane, Mr.McConnel as Leo Vincey, Mr.Webster as Holly and Mr.West as Job were wall received by our theater-goers. The dramatization of Haggard's brilliant novel was all that possibly could be done with a story—much better than the Indicators attempt of the Tivell people at San Francisco, a year or so ago, to put it up she boards. Altogether the crowded house was much pleased with the company, and there is no doubt that if the managers present as with such enjoyable plays their labors will be liberally rewarded. The age voter may have some difficulty in preparing his ticket for local offices. Messrs. Frank Moore, B.J.Snedgren and H.L.Paly (present incumbent), are aspirants for Rand Overseeer in this district, and it is surmised a ratling race will learnt by the constituents Judge Pierce, A.K. White and George Amerige of Pul- Lioness are appointed for Township Justice. It is said that Mr. Paul of Polluton and husband R. A. White will contend for the office of Counsellor in opposition to Sister Smythe. Al Smith of Osmunghebery and B. P. Porter (president in council) are candidates for Road Overruner in North Australia road district. Al is a talented young man and will make a rattling race and an excellent Driver if elected. Local candidates are springing up upon all sides and one hangs look sharp nowadays to entangle them. We do not attempt to any who has the call on the Governor's job in this district as matters now are decidedly "wham." Packages remain uncalled for at Walla, Pargo & Co.'s offices as follows: A. T. Pendleton, C. A. Polohroler, K. Jamman, K. M. Schimmel, C. Dongherty, C. Amon, W. D. Bridges, I. Williams, A. B. Cunningham, J. Waldwin, M. Shaley. Of the registered voters in this princtoo 200 are known to be Democratic and 188 Supublican. The balance are unqualified Democrats claim a larger majority... Republicans console the city to be democratic by about twenty-five votes. "You pay your money and you take your choice." Constable Smythe arrested a Chinaman on Monday who was accused of stealing an amount of money and a shotgun from a countryman at Santa Ana a few days ago. He was conveyed to Judge Pierce's court and after an amiable settlement between the solicitors they approved party was released on payment of costs. One of the grotesque things connected with the new celebrated "Murehisen letter," in the pening of Major (?) Patrick Sardiald Barney at San Francisco of an intimate friend of the latter-writer, whose many traits of character, etc., are described at some length by the Major with the nerve of the O'Grady. This acquaintance on the art of Dorney with a man who is not, and who has been searched for in vain by many people, is on a par with his attempt; some months ago, to put the Tyrolese in his inside pocket. Dorney's nerve stands in no particular need of celery, beef and iron at this time. Hermetrical Record for the Past Week. Pursued by Sergeant Thomas, with A.
