GRAND EXCURSION.
Lots of People in Town Saturday.
A Most Successful Sale of Lots Everybody Planned With Their Investments in Anaheim Lea.
Last Saturday was a grand day for Anaheim. The excursion under the management of Sam Houston & Matthew of Los Angeles was a most successful affair. The lots sold were all boundless purchase, and the hapless in every instance were entailed. About four hundred people were in attendance from Los Angeles, and this number was swelled to a larger proportion by the large hapless from here and the neighboring town. The sense of operations was near our new hotel on Center street, and there on the vardera-covered plot the people were met, all in the foot of sidrita. A brass band accompanied the excursion, and their melodious strums of music were an appreciative feature. Abundance of fruit of all kinds were served gratuitously to the visiting people, and they were highly pleased at the favor. Some of Mr. Tham Reiser's excellent wine was also at the disposal of all entering to partake of it.
We heard it expressed by several buyers that it is their intention to improve their respective purchases, and by thus doing the property will be materially enhanced in value. The property is in a fine location, being on the line of a good paying street car line.
At the conclusion of the sale the ambience required to the center of town, and made final preparations for the visitors' departure. The brass band again discovered excellent music in front of the Planters', and good cheer was the order of the hour. Nothing happened to mar the pleasure of the day, and the sale was voted to be one of the best ever held in Anaheim. Following is a complete list of the day's sale:

As the sun shone brightly last Sunday afternoon, and peace and quite reigned over the prairie, a ride through the country was order, and to the hospitable invitation extended by the Meersn. Zayn accompanies by their cousin, Mr. H. Wunnenberg. Take a drive, we cheerfully acquiesced. The day could not have been more pleasant; it had specially ordered; and behind a pair of fillies we spirited away. The pain enjoyed the excitement most highly; the pleasure of sampling some of Mr. J. Schralk's choice Zafandel was also appreciated. Proceeding to the thriving town of Orange thorpa, we were afforded the opportunity gaining upon orange trees laden with golden fruit. A brief stay at the residence of our friend, Mr. Chen, Stone was enjoyable; and while there the thorough eighteen-year-old colt belonging to Ms Stone was subjected to ouragle inspection It is a very fine animal. Nightfall denudes upon us too soon and as a consequence the party were compelled to return to the home. We hope to enjoy a similar happy trip soon.
The Japanese comedian.
A new and very profitable orange hatchly come to the motive of our California people, and urile for the same are comm in satinhally fast from all elites quiten It is in the coming orange both an profitability and its luminosity. The orange is the genuine Japanese Onchin King, "an noun call it." This variety grafted on the "Chirus Tryplist," a mango stock. It is partly deciduous. The growth stops earlier in the season, namely the fruit signet earlier—the fraternity about the middle of November thus bringing it on the market when the mind for any orange is the greatest price new high. The last importation than Pramins of one hundred houses made brought two dollars and fifty cents per bale of one hundred. It is also an annual hogge. The mind is thin, and the impulse preparing for eating is not in the heart of greasibility so is the one with aging ammunition

TOUR FOR TRAMPS.
Constable Symthe On the Alert
The men of Autumn International are by the Registrant Words of four Minutes Interactive Times.
It was obliquely around police drums on late Friday night than a lot of the individuals commonly called tramps were in town to the dispairment of some of the inhabitants in the neighborhood of the depot, and motion was则 promised to our official detainees form to amput them. In touch but a short time for Constable Symthe to accompany the aid of several deputies in town and preparations were formally made to make a demonstration upon the man of himself. After supplying the corps of deputies with necessary areas and irons, they started for the S.P. depot where the above lot of tramps were supposed to be located. It was a long tramp, as it is well-known the station is a mile away; and some of the party, a Galactic representative being among them, were not used to walking a very great distance. We finally reached our destination and halted for orders from the captain of the force. Everything fixed, a couple of the most during deputies were detailed to explore a box car off to one side, and as a result of their keen-coated proclivities a hurry tramp was brought forth. He was acutely looking fellow and was capable of snaring the life out of a fellow who happened to be a movie in the detective line of business. However, he was securely covered and told to keep cool until further orders. Just then a billerious about was heard which was found to surmount from another box-car which stood some distance away. "Haush," softly murmured the leader to his deputies, and "smum" was then this word. Stealing stealthily across where she sound came from, we were enabled to ascertain, by peeping through a crack in the ear, how many of the forward prey we were to encounter. The gang in the car—there were about eight tongues in all—were quarrelling as to who should have the blanket to cover his shivering soul for night, they having but one blanket between them. After a few moments of waiting—necessary for us all to regain our breath—the limb of the law throw open the side door of the car and issued an

We have received an order for orange and lemon trees to be sent to the northern citrus balk.. We should not be surprised to have the order countermanded since the “warm snow” storm up there.
The travel on Placeia avenue has increased to great proportions. From twenty-five fifty teens paid daily along this thoroughfare. The trees along the road need trimming. They, in some places, hang half across the road. While the road master is attending to his duties here it would be well if he put his graders across from the Crowther place to Leonard Parker’s. No road leading into Anaheim has as much travel and so little expanded on it. If graded up before the winter rains are over it would be good the balance of the year. Perhaps the heavy road tax levied last year does not mean good roads. If it doesn’t there will be some responsible kicking, and it will soon begin if something is not done. Note is the time, and not after the rains are all over, when there will be nothing but dust and chuck holes the balance of the year. Never mind the bridges, but give us roads.
Everybody admires the town site of Melrose, Kronger, Rimpau and Littlefield, near Placentia school house, and frequent inquiries are made why it is not put on the market. It is believed that no new town has more natural advantages than this; yet not a lot is offered for sale. It is in a central place for business and is surrounded by a productive country.
Wm.P.Hausen has made a large sale of wine. He received satisfactory prices for it.
The school has opened this week, after a month’s vacation, under J.P.Greesley principal, and Miss Lizzie A.MacMallan assistant.
Land has been selling adjacent to the town of Carlton for $300 per acre, and above the ditch we know just as good land, nearer the railroad, with water piped to the highest corner and plenty of it can be had for $150 per acre.

Which stood some distance away.“Hash softly murmured the leader to his deputies, and “mum” was then this word. Stealing stealthily across where the sound came from, we were enabled to ascertain by peeping through a crack in the air, how many of the forward prey we were to encounter.
The gang in the car—there about eight tongues in all—were quarreling as to who should have the blankets to cover his shirering soul for the night, they having but one blanket between them. After a few moments of waiting—necessary for us all to regain our breath—the limb of the law threw open the side door of the car and issued an order for the “boys to get out of there!”It was an utter surprise to the gang inside as they hasten sequestered being molested. The march to the “oolder.”An order was given by the captain to the most daring of the cops to take the lead with a man,and to the step sand in drilline—“left:left;leftright:left”—the rest of us formed in line.
We heard a small boy,two able, say we looked like the Tyrolews on drill!
We had no difficulty with the prisoners on the way to town, owing doublets to the fact that they knew they were in the minority.Presently one of the fellows in the clutchas of the law—he evidently coming from the green fields of Ireland—began to get disgusted with the whole country, the claiming that “the honest man gets arrested and the ragler burn is let go!”Oh,b did use some horrible language in denouncing law and everybody connected therewith.Hewas finally persuaded to desist and “take a tumbie,”but this was hard for him do.as he was no completely shocked over his fortunate predicament.
Arriving at the stationhouse, the gang of men of leisure were requested to stand up and give their names and permit themselves to be searched.A few pocket-knives comprised their entire possessions, save a comb or two.
Upon examining a little closer as to the correct number under arrest, the discovered that one,the most vicious of the lot, missing, and on calling a roll of deputies we found also gone.it Was a mystery. No one present could account for the absence of the pair (it then dawned, pupon our minds that the missing trump was the one placed in charge of the cop at the rear).Well, the departed from the jail yard after-secure fastening the door in order to keep in what we had under cover.Arriving at headquarters on Los Angeles street, the encountered long-lost member of our force footsore and weary,但the trump was no where to be found—he got away.
The prisoners were taken before Justice Pierce and all, with the exception of two demands1 jury trials.Theyer were accordingly arranged and discharged by the jury. Some of them, however plead guilty!
