NEW GAZEITE.—R. M. Barham, whom everybody in this ballwick knows, has been appointed Deputy Internal Revenue Ganger. We congratulate Dick, and wish him honor and profit in his office.

TRUSTYS APPORTED:—By the removal of Mr. D. W. C. Cowan to Los Angeles, a vacancy was created in the Board of School Trustees of this district which was filled on Monday by the appointment of Mr. Plex James. This appointment gives entire satisfaction to the patrons of the school who believe that he is the right man in the right place.
DWELLING HOUSES IN DEMAND:—A gentleman was in town the fore part of this week looking around to secure two furnished rooms, for which he was willing to pay $10 per month. He was unable to get them, and consequently departed. Another gentleman wrote his family, arrived in town several days ago, and endeavored to procure a dwelling house for temporary residence. He was shown a small apartment, but had almost every room of this paper known the situation of Thea Eden's vaping. It is one of the best known places in town, and has been for many years known for the fine winnel produced from its vision. But the memorable march of progress has compelled the upstaging of the views and the subdivision of the vineyard into town lots, all of which will be sold as max Tuesday to the highest bidder, on any terms. Monroe Stanton & Masthew, the antiquities inform us that they are assured that the excursion from Los Angeles on that day will be the biggest one of the season, and have no doubt that the sale will be successful in every way. It is hoped, therefore, that everybody with a team will be at the railroad depot at 10 A.M. on next Tuesday to assist in bringing extenuates to town, and endeavor to make it plausible in every way for the strangers. A hostess' lunch will be spread which will be free for all.

THE CONFERENCE ON THE WINERY
The social comment for the International Fair New Mexico New Mexico.
That "they laugh when who a tree proverb an old as the hill lively appropriate to the condition in Anaheim just now. Such program has worked the old ever a year past, but there has been feverish or unexhausted about not a town lot or an area of pure town that has not more than values during the past six or eight and during that period these have sales at the enhanced prices than five preceding years. Lets whistle he paid for $100 a year age are $200 and upwards, and earn which a twelve-month age went for $100 an acre are worth from $200 acre. These undamable facts may prove our assertion as to the progress of this place.
Such gratifying advancement made without the wild impact "boom" gives what may we expect the next few months when Southern California product arrives? That it will do so, there to doubt; that the energies of boomers will be concentrated upon this winter we have every reason and the consequence will be a real estate value, the inaugurated industries and an increase of The feeling towards Anaheim in les and elsewhere has undergone change in the past few months. Instead of disparaged; its merits instead of being deceived; its power tainted instead of being ensured at it is spoken of with the most d consideration and recommended flattering terms to the strangers for information. It is quite poor this radical change in public view due to the fact that
DWELLING HOUSES IN DEMAND:—A gentleman was in town the fore part of this week looking around to secure two unfurnished rooms, for which he was willing to pay $10 per month. He was unable to get them, and consequently departed. Another gentleman, with his family, arrived in town several days ago, and endeavored to procure a dwelling house for temporary residence. He was shown a small tenement, but said that he wanted a suitable dwelling house and was willing to pay $15 or $20 rent per month. As is the case in Anaheim, he could not be accommodated. And still a great many people here think it would not be a safe investment to build dwelling houses.
THE RISE IN REAL ESTATE:—Another "rise" in real estate occurred on Tuesday in Anaheim—in fact, all over the valley. Strange to say, the real estate agents were not in a happy mood over the affair and remained in their offices with closed doors. The Santa Ana waived the "time." Our gentlemen explained, after taking off his coat in the evening, that he was now the purchaser of a fine lot—located on the back of the garment. Another gentleman claimed to own a lot in the fair, but said that it was not eligible using its own premises in his face. Most everybody got some real free of charge, deposited on their apartments and social anxiety by the "Santa Ana." The next rise will provide a convenient and also be refreshing to them—if they don't wash or burn of the real estate before another raise.
The Guests:—Preparations for the presentation of the Council of Boys at Briggs's Hall on the fifth and sixth test are progressing rapidly. One officer promises to be something for beyond the average attendance. Mr. B. Newman, who is driving the parade, takes a pledge to give up everything he has given here with all the accolades of security, medicine and continuing which have while Temple of Love is popular elsewhere. As he is all his talk, comments of the youth, beauty and talent of Anaheim, we have no doubt there will be a considerable crowd. Says may be second at Holmes b.
WARREN MURPHY:—At the meeting of the Directors of A. U. W. On Saturday, it was resolved to notify the California General R. R. Company that they must visit the district at Morrison Beach and put it on a better grade than they must build a bridge over San Diego No. 9 on the upper ditch and sixteen continue the culverts across the ditch. The Secretary instructed to notify I.W. Worris to pay the rent of the Data and Kiva crests before November 1st. The note of Theno Drake for $1700 was ordered paid. It was resolved that no time checks be paid until approved by the Board of Audit. The date for collecting the assessment was extended to next Monday, the 26th last.
QUICK MARMON:—One of the most annoying times upon the previous time of Anaheim real estate agents is that consumed in calculating the amount of the commissions made. It takes up time which could be more probably devoted to other areas, and we decide not that they will halt with joy.
MRS. ERWIN BURR, who has been seriously ill for some time, is now rusticating at Capt Garcia's place, four miles north of Ontario, where her friends hope she will soon be convulsive.
THEO. Reiser returned on Tuesday evening from San Francisco, bringing with him a fine specimen of the colds which the Bay City invariably contributes to visitors from the semi-tropics.
CHRIAS. Meyer will leave shortly for Washington Territory, where he will engage in the business of stock raising. We have strong hopes of seeing him back again soon in this section.
T.J. Welch and family left last week for Vigo, Indiana, where he has purchased some property. We wish them the greatest measure of success, and a speedy return to Anaheim.
ROBERT Menzel has sold the Railroad House business, near the N.P. depot to Louis Build, who will take possession on Tuesday. Mr. Menzel will hereafter take his way on the property he purchased some months ago.
N.C. Hawks, the printers' friend and good fellow generally, was in Anaheim on Saturday. Mr. Hawks bought eight lots on the Spurler tract, and wants to get hold of more Anaheim property, as he thinks this the most promising town on the coast.
LEWIS & CO., lost a valuable mare from anchors on Monday.
MR. NICHOLS has enlarged the stage in Knight's Hall by building an addition of two test to the front.
A sample of cartons on the balcony board of Hudson Street station stationation by the Mount de Lempère train.
William H. Bailey has agreed to convey to below Kewan an unimaginable one hundred thousand acres for $450 million.
The Anaheim improvement Company will need purchases or lots in three freestanding houses on Wednesday.
Mr. Bailey was knocked on Sunday by one of his horses, and sustained a severe injury. Had the high taken effect once higher up it would have broken like Kumpus and laughed like Donkey for him.
The Ink Garden so called, has been sold by Linda Tucker to Jason Tinker, from Shaad Minnesota. The purchaser proposes to make great improvements on the place.
Read the new ad. of Rimpaan Broe. They have been unpacking new goods for the past two weeks and their analyses are now filled with all that is true success and most fashionable of fail wear, whence they are selling at prices that dely competitions.
Brigalier-General Matthews has obtained permission to organize three extra companies of minima for this edition. There is therefore no doubt that five robbers will be mastered into the National Guard if they want them.

Qurck Marmon: One of the most annoying times upon the previous time of Anaheim real estate agents is that consumed in maintaining the amount of the commissions on sales. It takes up time which could be more profitably devoted to other needs, and we do not that they will hall with joy the publication of a simple and short method of calculation, which we find in the Panama Dairy. The commission is generally 15 per cent on the first $1000 and 25 per cent on additional $1000 or fraction thereof. More if the man of the sale exceeds $1000 and $1500 in the amount and divide the sum by legs, painting off one figure from the right. For instance, a sale of $15,000 is made. All Mild, the gain is $16,000. Dividing this by four, the result is 4000. Pointing at one figure the commission is four hundred dollars.
Dunne or Cold Air: Fruit drying by cold air is a specialty to me. The Haywards Journal tells of a blacksmith in that vicinity who has demonstrated by actual experiment that a blast of cold air is just as efficacious as heat. Directly back of the room occupied by the forge is another apartment, which is cool but drying fruit. The mild blast comes from the forge that supplies the wind used in the blacksmith's furnace. The fruit is placed on trays inside of an industrial frame, and the cold air blends in them around it. The motion of the air in some engines, and the fruit is found to be completely dried. Samples of prunes, apples and pears are shown which were held ten years ago by this process, and which are still in a certain state of preservation. If it can be demonstrated that this process may be useful to have been on a large scale as it seems to have been on a small one, then a valuable element has been made.

The fire was raging on Tuesday night in the mountain about ten miles east of Anaheim. Dense volumes of smoke would be pliant seen from the fire and awaying for miles around. The mountains were illuminated for a considerable distance around the fire. Yesterday morning a big smoke was awaying from the summits.
One Sunday one of G. A. Branewicker's employees hired a rig of N. H. Mitchell, and went out to Orangehurpe. He met a companion at the saloon there, who being slightly intoxicated, got into the biggy and turned its around too short. The vehicle was then overturned and the top and mass broken off, and some of the wheels spake were also broken. The horse was injured on the leg, but not seriously.
Ramir Crop Damages: Our reporter had commiss to pass through the Orange rain district on Sunday. Having boarded of the damage by the late rain to reside in process of drying on the ground, an investigation made and the half-dried mines examined when it was found that much a state of alliance existed. That "they laugh host who laugh lost" in true proverb as old as the hills, and particularly appropriate to the condition of things in Anaheim just now, dutch and already program has marked the old enemy for a year past, but there has been nothing overish or unnoteworthy about it. There is not a town lot or an area of property in the town that has not more than doubled in size during the past six or eight months, and during that period them has been more alive at the enhanced prices than during the preceding years. Lets which would not be ripped for $100 a year ago are new worth 100 and upwards, and arrange property such a twelvemonth ago went a hugging at 200 an acre are worth from $200 to $200 an acre. These undeniable facts are sufficient prove our assertion as to the substantial progress of this place.
Such gratifying advancement having been made without the wild impulse which a room" gives, what may we expect during the next few months when that peculiarly southern California product envelopes the town? That it will do so, there is no reason doubt; that the energies of professional women will be concentrated upon Anaheim a winter we have every reason to believe, and the consequence will be a rapid rise in real estate values, the inauguration of new industries and an increase of population. We feeling towards Anaheim in Los Angeles and elsewhere has undergone a marked change in the past few months. It is praised stead of disparaged; its merits are extolled instead of being decried; its people are flattened instead of being answered at; in short, a spoken of with the most distinguished consideration and recommended in the most interesting terms to the strangers who apply information. It is quite possible that a radical change in public sentiment is
Probably no event in the annals of the history of the A. O. U. W. of Anaheim has warranted more interest or greater enthusiasm among its members than the visit of Wm. K. Jordan, Superintendent of the order, last Saturday. He came momentarily, and where the adjournance of a pressing invitation, which would break no defensal, made to him by Dr. Frank My at the grand hanged given in his honor by the Los Angeles lodges had Thursday. He was escorted from Los Angeles by Master Workman Dr. J. H. Bullard and sent at the station by a delegation pointing to Mennon, James, Knapp and Sehamburger, thence taken to the hotel for mapper. Meanwhile the members, almost to a man, together with a large delegation from Santa Ana, assembled in the lodge room, the use of which for this occasion was presumably granted by the Order of Chame Friends, they giving up their regular meeting for this purpose.
At 8 o'clock a committee consisting of Judge Freeman of Santa Ana, Dr. Gardiner and Mr. Knapp conducted the illustrations meant to the lodge-room. He was received with the grand orders and introduced to the members by the Master Workman. Mr. Jordan spoke for half an hour or more and with rare eloquence, being a natural orator of easy and flowing speech. To listen to him he spoke of the program and growth as power of the Order of Wogumau was a rare treak. He told of the great responsibility attending his position as the Saprane Grand Master of an order which now numbered over 20,000 members, and still growing rapidly. He spoke of the great power of one order for good in the country, of its enambling influence upon the individual and of the tendency to draw man to man in a certain honour.

The beginning of the long-deferred work on the railroad which is to connect Anaheim in Los Angeles and San Diego is another one which will operate to give us a boom contract for the grading of the road has been agreed from Anaheim to Los Angeles, and the intention of the management that care will be running over the road by end of the present year. The deposit of new road will be so costly conveniently laid near town that passing trains no longer be debated into assuming that more land and a few waterways can be used for the town of Anaheim, as has frequently been the case with the patrols of the hotel.
