The Los Angeles Bar is "muchly titled." Amongst the lawyers, who paid their devoirs to Judge Sepulveda on Monday were two generals, two colonels, five majors, three captains and two judges. We feel proud that we are not as others.
The following suits, pending in the District Court, have been set for trial as follows: C. B. Rawson vs. Fourcade, March 4th; M. E. Kraemer vs. D. Kraemer, March 19th; J. M. Bush, vs N. C. Morgan, et al; February 23d; Anabeim Lighter Company vs. M. Reese, February 23d.

The Richland Odd Fellows have received their jewels and regalia from the East, and only await the arrival of their Dispensation, to open their lodge in due form.
Among the strangers in town during the past week, we noticed our friends, A. A. Wilson, V. Hcover, and Henry Hammel, of Los Angeles.
Sam Hamilton, Esq., of Los Angeles, was in town on Wednesday. Rumor hath it that he will soon make Anaheim his permanent home. "So hope we all of us."

Wells, Fargo's agent at San Francisco is under the impression that Anaheim is surrounded by water. In a certain sense it is; we have the Pacific ocean on the South and West, the Atlantic on the East and the Arctic ocean on the North, but Charlie Gardner is the first person we ever knew who failed to connect on that account.
It will be seen from an advertisement in another column, that the Agent of the Public Library, Louisville Kentucky, has over a million dollars in Bank, and that he assures the public of a full drawing on the 31st of March next. The list of gifts is exceedingly attractive, and the high personal character of the manager is a guarantee that they will perform what they promise.
Charles A. Gardner, former proprietor of the Southern Californiaian, arrived in town on Thursday and contemplates a short visit among his former labors. He is at present interested as part proprietor and editor of the Napa Register published at Napa City. Judging from his cheerful looks and general physique we can safely endorse his assertion that his lines have been cast in pleasant and profitable places. We extend to him a cordial greeting and a most hearty welcome. May he live a thousand years, and may his shadow continually increase.
Mr. Hartung has met with a sad misfortune. He possessed a beautiful young orange tree, just budding into maturity, and upon which were thirteen large and magnificent oranges. On Saturday night, a parcel of rude boys (who, by the by are known) despoliated the pride of the old man. It would be wise for them not to repeat the performance.

Mrs. Jerome B. Stone lost on Tuesday morning in Anaheim, an old family relic, a small red and green shawl. The finder will confer a great favor upon that lady by leaving it at the Californian office.
The auction sale of Draven & Boege's property was well attended yesterday, the stuff selling very well. Zeyn purchased the two wagons, Dyer the slaughter-house and Cohen the butchering tools.
Mrs. Metz has rented from Knapka and Schmidt a portion of her vineyard, leased to them, for the purpose of planting orange trees thereon. Consideration, $100,
Higbie is opposed to wine-bibbing because he represents a county, whose main staple is wine; he is in favor of railroad monopolies, because he is a Granger; he is in favor of mental miscegenation, although he said he wasn't. We sincerely hope that he is opposed to County Division, because if he is not—the Lord help us.
We would call the attention of farmers to the advertisement of D. R. M. Thompson, who has purchased the business lately carried on by Obed Macy. Mr. Thompson is a thorough and experienced workman himself, and employs none but the best journeymen; he guarantees all work, that may leave his shop, to be of the best quality and material, and he asks for his goods, Granger prices.
One little hour, resigned to pleasure is said to be worth the sages' boasted immortality. During the last week we and all the world of Anaheim have had an opportunity to test its truth. We had the opera on Saturday, we had spiritual manifestations and magical illusions on Monday and afterward politics and mass meetings. Little Mac and the baby elephant, negro minstrels and wedding parties, all in a lump, and we differ from the poet Immortality is reported to be lasting but pleasures too much resemble poppies; you seize the flower and its bloom is shed.
MASS MEETING AT FISCHER'S HOTEL.
Its Organization — Resolutions expressive of sense of the Meeting—Addresses by several Prominent Citizens.
Pursuant to a circular signed by "Many Citizens," calling for a general assemblage of those interested in County Division, quite a large number of citizens gathered together at Fischer's on Wednesday evening. The meeting having been called to order by A. G., Beebe Esq., John Fischer was elected Chairman and S. Randall, Secretary. A motion having been carried that a committee be appointed to draft a series of resolutions, expressive of the sense of the meeting, the Chair appointed as said committee the following gentlemen: E. W. Champlin, J. P. Zeyn, S. J. Davis, A. G. Beebe, F. E. Mielenz, E. A. Ladd, who after a short absence presented the following
RESOLUTIONS.
We, the Committee appointed by the Chairman of a mass meeting of the citizens of Anaheim and surrounding country, convened on this 4th day of February, 1874, to report resolutions expressive of the views and sense of the people assembled, do hereby report the following for the consideration of the meeting:
WHEREAS—In view of the memorial and petition now being numerously signed by the citizens of the south-eastern portion of Los Angeles county praying for a county division, and
WHEREAS—We the people of said portion of Los Angeles county, believing and knowing that justice little Miss Luedke, whose girlish modesty and innate timidity could not restrain the inspiring influence with which music evidently impressed her; but we must speak in terms of high enconium of the instrumental performances of Miss Kimpau, who after only three months played a most difficult operatic piece, not only well but with an expression and touch, seldom seen even in professional players. We find, however, that we are becoming enthusiastic upon the merits of these young ladies and consequently, as we have already said, will content ourselves with stating the entertainment was one of the most enjoyable that Anaheimers have ever had the good fortune to witness.

4th day of February, 1874, to report resolutions expressive of the views and sense of the people assembled, do hereby report the following for the consideration of the meeting:
WHEREAS—In view of the memorial and petition now being numerously signed by the citizens of the south-eastern position of Los Angeles county praying for a county division, and
WHEREAS—We the people of said portion of Los Angeles county, believing and knowing that justice demands that we should be granted our prayer for division, and that our cause should be presented and urged until final enactment creating the county of Orange by all and every honorable means in our power to command, therefore be it.
Resolved, That we will never cease appealing to the good sense of our Honorable Legislature until they shall have granted to us the boon desired by an almost unanimous community.
Resolved, That to refuse our petition in this behalf, would be to subject us to innumerable suffering and hardships, too intolerable to be borne in patience by freemen.
Resolved, That our cause be properly canvassed and presented at the present session; that we do hereby appoint and delegate Judge W. C. Wiseman of Anaheim, as our agent in the premises, to act in all things that we might or could do in furtherance of our memorial and prayer for a new county, and that we, the citizens, will by contribution raise a fund sufficient to defray all needed expenses of our agent in the premises.
Resolved, That the Southern California be requested to publish these resolutions in their next issue.
S. J. Davis,
Chairman of Committee.
During the withdrawal of the Committee, Judge Wiseman and other prominent speakers of Anaheim discussed briefly, though pointedly, the subject of County Division, and added by their eloquent efforts much to the enthusiasm of the assemblage. After providing for the funds necessary to defray the expenses of Judge Wiseman to Sacramento, the meeting adjourned.

The Concert of Signorn Catalano and her Pupils.
Quite an interest was felt by everybody in the complimentary benefit which was tendered to Signorn Catalano on last Saturday. This interest had been aroused, not so much on account of the known deserts of that most estimable artiste, but more because three young maidens, who had been the recipients of her teachings for some months past, and in whose vocal and instrumental performances all Anaheim felt a pardonable pride, had kindly volunteered to assist in the evening's entertainment. We would much like to give expression to the general pleasure, experienced in listening to the varied performances of the evening, but for fear that unintentional comparisons might be made, we content ourselves with simply stating that the anticipations of all were more than realized. The audience were not alone charmed and delighted; they were entranced. We will not speak of the rich, powerful voice, and the graceful self-possession of Miss Hardin, which elicited applause not only from her friends and many admirers, but from a professional, who accidentally was present. His involuntary remark "There's money in her" which was overheard by our reporter, was not refined, but it was the excess of compliment; neither will we mention the sweet voice of
