Church, South, which was held on the Santa Ana River, closed last Tuesday morning. It was a good meeting; we had most of the time good order and a very attentive congregation, it was thought by some that there were between 600 and 700 persons present at the meeting on Sunday. The gospel, as pressed, was the power of God unto Salvation to those that believed. I joined the Church. I do not know how many were converted. The gospel, expressed, was the power of God to Salvation to those that believed. Joined the Church. I do not know how many were converted. The last night of the meeting was one of peculiar interest; about 25 were at the altar as seekers of salvation; most of them were blessed and it was a season of rejoicing to Christians. To God be all this glory. The interest was so great that a meeting was appointed for Tuesday night at the school house in Santa Ana and to continue every night while circumstances require it. We tender our sincere thanks to Mr Olden for giving us the privilege of holding our meeting on that pleasant ground C. Gridley. The Railroad is completed to Castroville. The Argus says: The road is being fast graded toward Salinas City; the first bridge across the Templedar is finished and the locomotive will probably reach Salinas city in the course of time and continue on the river this Fall, where we understand the company have purchased six hundred acres of land and intend to establish the main town of the valley. WORKMEN WANTED.—There is a great need of more workmen in the various industrial pursuits of Anasheim and vicinity. Many of the wine presses are idle for want of lands. The threshers have a large force employed, and sheep shearing is also going forward. We don't see any excuse for able bodied men remaining idle or complaining of hard times. CREELEY & BROWN CLUB!
