ANAHEIM GAZETTE.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 12, 1871.
NOTICE.
Los Angeles candidates wishing to be announced in the Anaheim Gazette can arrange to do so by calling on Mr. W. J. Brodrick.
Arizona.
The Arizona Moner complains bitterly of the treatment which that territory has received at the hands of the general government in regard to her Indian troubles. It says they have white enemies, persons claiming to be civilized white men, who are more deadly foes to the people of the territory than the Apache themselves. Among these are numbered Indian Commissioner Parker, (who we believe has been since removed), and General Stoneman, who is charged with grossly misrepresenting the citizens of Arizona, and by act and word, to have "maligned them when the fight was hottest and the danger greatest." The Arizonaians have suffered much in settling and subduing one of the most hostile portions of the republic, their lands are wet with the blood of her murdered people, her hills and valleys have become a new "dark and bloody ground," as mournfully famous as Kentucky of the days of Boone. She deserves the readiest aid which a parental government can give and a powerful Nation like ours should not permit her children to suffer so long from an enemy who might be forever crushed in one vigorous campaign. We howl dismally if a foreign power look disrespectfully toward us talk largely of passports and Speed Programme of the Southern District Agricultural Association.

We howl dismally if a foreign power look disrespectfully toward us, talk largely of passports and satisfaction should the Spanish Premier in a diplomatic note omit to dot the i's or cross the t's or present a comma with a broken tail, and if a British cruiser peep too inquisitively into a vessel of the Great Republic, do we not forthwith trot out our heaviest columbiads and bring the offender down upon his marrow bones before he can say Jack Robinson.
Yet all the while that we are enforcing the strictest observance of international etiquette from every foreign power, we tolerate within our own borders foes who murder our people, burn their habitations and plunder their goods. Let there be sent after the Apaches, men who believe in capital punishment.
