Homicide.
On Friday the 11th inst., information was brought to the office of Justice Davis, in this city, that a white man had died the day previous, at the Indian rancheria on the premises of F. A. Korn, Esq., in the western part of the town, from the effects of a wound received on Monday the 6th inst., in an affray with the Indian denizens of that camp. A coroner's jury was immediately impanelled, and, proceeding to the spot, found the body to be that of a young and vagrant German named Friedrick Rupp, who had lived in and about Anaheim for several months past, and associated and lived almost exclusively with the Indian population. The body was already much decomposed, and showed a frightful gash, cut diagonally across the forehead. The blow had evidently been inflicted either with a hatchet or a heavy knife, which had crushed entirely through the skull and penetrated to the brain. The evidence elicited, both before the coroner's jury and at the preliminary examination, was conflicting; two Indians named, respectively, Juan Ignacio and Jesus Venegas, charging each other with the crime, and each producing two witnesses to prove his assertion. Both were held on a charge of murder, and sent to Los Angeles to answer before the Grand Jury.
The verdict of the coroner's jury was as follows:
and at the preliminary examination, was conflicting; two Indians named, respectively, Juan Ignacio and Jesus Venegas, charging each other with the crime, and each producing two witnesses to prove his assertion. Both were held on a charge of murder, and sent to Los Angeles to answer before the Grand Jury.
The verdict of the coroner’s jury was as follows:
We, the undersigned jurors, convened for the purpose of inquiring into the cause of the death of the body found at the Indian Camp, on the premises of F. A. Korn, Esq., do find that the deceased was named Friedrick Rupp, a native of Friedenstadt, Kingdom of Wirtenberg, Germany, aged about 23 years; and that he came to his death from a wound in the head, inflicted with a sharp instrument, in the hand of either Juan Ignacio or Jesus Venegas; conflicting testimony preventing this jury from forming a decisive opinion. We find, from the evidence, that the wound was inflicted on the evening of the 6th of February, 1871, and that death resulted therefrom on the 9th of February, 1871.

Anaheim Harbor.
In the U. S. Senate Jan. 23d, Senator Casserly presented a petition of citizens of Anaheim and San Bernardino, asking a survey of the harbor at Anaheim and an appropriation of $25,000 for its improvement. Senator Casserly writes to Hon. Wm. A. Conn, of San Bernardino, in relation to the matter, saying:
I shall always be rejoiced to do what in my lies to increase all harbors and business facilities for the important counties of Los Angeles and San Bernardino.
Upon receipt of your memorial and your letter, I presented the former in the Senate, with such remarks as our rules confine us to in offering petitions and memorials.
I enclose the official report from the Daily Globe.

I shall keep a watchful eye on the matter, in the Committee of Commerce.
There is a recommendation for a light house at Willmington. I do not know how far this may interfere with one at Anaheim.
Send me any authentic data as to the character of the harbor at the latter place.—Los Angeles News.

Jurors — The apportionment of Grand and Trial Jurors by the Board of Supervisors for the year next ensuing has been made, in accordance with the requirements of the law, with the following result:
Anaheim township, 12 jurors; El Monte, 59; Los Angeles, 274; Los Nietos, 32; San Gabriel, 14; San Jose, 16; San Juan, 3; Santa Ana, 5; San Pedro, 34—making in the aggregate 450, is the number required.
ENLARGED.—The stationery store of Brodrick & Reilly, Los Angeler, has been enlarged to twice its size, and a large and select additional stock of goods have been placed on sale by them.
THE DESIGNED DRAMS, falsely called medicines, sold in barrooms as "tonics" and "stomachies," have nothing in common with Dr. Walker's Vinegar Bitters. That famous invigorant does not owe its stimulating properties to berry and adulterated alcohol, but to medicinal roots and nerber humuliforme combined. The effect of the Bitters in cases of constitutional debility, chronic indigestion, liver complaint, and all diseases leading to consumption, is so marvellous that except for those have felt or witnessed it, the result seems incredible.
