NEWS FROM THE LONG BEACH
Drilling stopped on the California Mexican Petroleum Syndicate at 3100 and preparations are now under way to bring the well in. The 8 inch was set at 2821 and from this point to 3100 feet the well has shown oil continuously. The actual coming in of this well will be delayed four or five days awaiting the arrival of screen pipe. Judging from the way this well has been showing up there is every reason to believe it will make a 700 barrel well. The Cal-Mex has staked a location for well No. 2. The second well will be drilled on the Lekis property west of the Shell's Horsch No. 1.
The General Petroleum drilling on the Bixby property is now down 3700 feet. The formation is hard sand, no showings as yet.
E. J. Miley, contrary to last week's report, has not drilled the cement out at Xemino No. 1. Pipe was set at 3815 and the well is to stand for a while yet. W. M. Keck has not done anything at the E. L. B. O. well and will probay not resume drilling for some little time. Both wells are in unproven territory and will await developments.
The Petroleum Midway has closed a deal for the North property, a strip of ground running along the south line of the San Martenas Booth lease. The coming in of the Booth well makes the North lease look like one of the choice properties in the field.
At 2680 the Petroleum Midway got a showing of oil in the Ellis well and stopped drilling to set pipe. Brown No. 1 is a rig, and McDavid No. 1 is rigging up.
Ramsey, Municipal No. 1, started off with a spart flow of about 1000 barrels. Judging from the way, the well acted it will duplicate the Shell Company's discovery well and make a 400 barrel pumper. Effort will be made to make the well flow. The gas pressure does not seem to be sufficient to maintain the oil column and keep a continuous flow. The oil is testing out close to 22 gravity.

San Martenas, Booth No. 1, a week ago was the sensation of the Long Beach field, flowing steadily at 1500 barrels. Today the big well is not producing a barrel. Water broke in around the 8 inch at 3561. The pipe has gone bad at 3541, the assumption being that it has collapsed. The pipe will be swedged out and the well re-cemented. Regardless of the fact that the big well went to water the San Martenas Oil Company has the consolation of the fact that the oil is there.
Drilling at 2850 feet the Standard Oil Company's Alamitos No. 2 is now showing anything that looks like oil yet. Lomits No. 1 shows a 1000 feet, Sylvester No. 1 at 2500 is drilling nicely. L. B. T. and Savings No. 1 shows 2200 feet drilled. The rig for the deep test Bixby well is down and in a few days all marks of the 5540 test well will be gone.
Barring the mishap of having the 8 inch pipe part the Shell's Company's Alamitos No. 2 would have been on production this week. This well has been showing up exceptionally strong and something startling is expected when it does come in, 3496 feet is the bottom and the formation is oil sand. Alamitos No. 2 set 8 inch at 3025. No. 4 Alamitos is rigging up. Babb-Tucker No. 1 set 8 inch at 2850. Goddard No. 1 at 2600 struck a light showing of oil. Jones No. 1 set 10 inch at 2956. Hutton No. 1 is drilling at 1700 in hard sand. Martin No. 1 is rebuilding the rig. Nesa No. 1 continues drilling on iron at 2777. Pickler No. 1 is ripping the 8 inch at 2400. Wilbur No. 1 is putting in 10 inch at 2400.
At both the United Denni Noland No. 2 a place is being sought to set pipe. Denni No. 1 at 2600 is in brown shale and probably will not go much deeper. Denni No. 2 is in the same formation at 2955 and will be setting pipe soon.

HUNTINGTON BEACH
Three new wells on separate properties is what the Amalgamated Oil Company is doing at Huntington Beach. Huntington No. 7 is about ready to spud in. Dennison No.1 and Pearce No.1 are both rig building. Fowler No.3, drilling at 2450, is in sandy shale. Huntington No.6 (at 3427, stands cemented.
The Argonaut Oil Company's Wilson No.1 is now one of Huntington Beach's big wells. For several days this well drilled to 2717, has been running around 1000 barrels. A settled production running from 6 to 8 hundred can be expected now. Johnson No.1 at 985 is drilling in surface formation. Turley No.2 is coming along nicely with the drilling. Hole is now being made at 2100.
The Argonaut Oil Company is the first company in the Huntington Beach field to equip a well with an electric pumping outfit. Turley No.1 is now pumping with electric motor. The outfit is the last thing in electrical equipment and is put out by the Westinghouse Electric.-C.O.Wheat of Brea put in the motor and did the electrical work.
Messrs. Krohn and Suttle, superintendent and heavy stockholder respectively of the Ridge Oil Company of Richfield have located at Huntington Beach and will drill two wells at once. The company will be known as the Krohn-Suttle Oil Company. The new company is being financed by selling production prospective. One per cent of the production sells for 1500 dollars. A lease has been secured on two properties, one south of the Unity Oil Company and the other east of the Blue Shale.
The Eddystone Oil Company's Huff No.1 now drilling at 4400 feet, is in hard sand and not showing up anything extra. Ashton No.3, at 3800 is in sandy shale, showing oil and gas. Davenport No.1 slipped down to 260 barrels, sanded up and quit flowing yesterday. Davenport No.2 is drilling at 2600 feet. The rig is up for Davenport No.3.
at 3680. The pipe was carried on to 3732 and there cemented. A very good showing at 3732 practically assures an oil well. Miller Syndicate No.2 spudded in and is being rigged up for the rotary.
The Miley-Keck Oil Company has dissolved and henceforth the properties of these two companies will be handled separately. Keck No.1 is drilling ahead at 2235. No.2 is a small producer making about 35 barrels. No.3 is a rig. No.4, the big well hangs around 450 barrels. No.5 is a rig. No.6 drilled to 2600 lost the hole and is skidding the rig. No.7 is standing cemented at 3600 where a good showing of oil was struck. No.8 was cemented at 3016 where some good showings were logged.
The Peerless Petroleum Company had the water shut off at 2850 and ready to go on into the oil sand ran into more water ten feet from the shutoff. The drilling will now continue until an oil sand is picked up.
The Petroleum Midway is having considerable difficulty in getting Smythe No.1 under way on production. Drilled to 3620 continuous swabbing has failed to make the well flow steadily. Flowing by heads the well is not making a very good showing. Towers No.1 at 3625 is still being held up with sand trouble. Drilling on Smythe No.2 is now at 1875 in hard sand. Parker No.1 is a new well with the lumber on the ground. At Vollimer-Meyer No.2 drilling is down 2450 feet. Elliott No.1 set the 8 inch at 2805. Pearce No.1 has been located.
Republic Petroleum No.2 is on production. Drilled to 3015 feet the well went on a production late last week. On account of sanding up and pumping off drilling water no exact figure on the output is yet available. It is thought that this well will make a 250 barrel producer. The rig is up and rigging up work is under way for Republic No.3.
Rhoades Oil Company No.1 (Climax) is not on production as yet. The oil string is to be pulled out and the

At 3895 the General Petroleum's Community No. 1 is in hard shell, and for fifty feet or more the formation carried a rather encouraging oil showing. It is understood that the recent showing was the best the well has ever made. Enough of an oil showing was uncovered to show as froth and foam on the "ditch."
HUNTINGTON BEACH
The Gypsy Oil Syndicate now has two producing wells and has to be reckoned as one of the producing companies of the field. Gypsy No. 2 at 2519 came in yesterday a 200 barrel well. The No. 2 well was cemented five times before getting a shutoff. The last cementing the fluid was put in under a pressure of 1250 pounds and job made good.
The Huntington Midway Crude has secured the necessary financial backing and is going ahead with the work. The well was redrilled and cleaned out, allowing a string of 10 to cement at 2268. The well will stand cemented until December 1st.
Hurst No. 2, sometimes known as Leonas No. 2 spudded in and shows 400 feet of hole. Hurst No. 1 is now making about 150 barrels.
The Jameson Oil Company's No. 1 was O. Ked by the water commission yesterday and now drilling is being resumed at 2255. The Jamison Company is fortunate in getting a water shutoff the first attempt.
The Malis Oil and Trust Company spudded in on the old Anchor well yesterday and drilling is now at 1100 feet. Malis Syndicate No. 1 is scheduled to go ahead with cable tools at 2600. Malis-Aldahl is held up with a fishing job at 2591.
With No. 1 producing 400 barrels and the outlook good for more production Machris Bros. No. 2 spudded in. Last week it was stated that the Miller Syndicate would set the 8 inch down 2450 feet. Elliott No. 1 set the 8 inch at 2805. Pearce No. 1 has been located.
Republic Petroleum No. 2 is on production. Drilled to 3015 feet the well went on a production late last week. On account of sanding up and pumping off drilling water no exact figure on the output is yet available. It is thought that this well will make a 250 barrel producer. The rig is up and rigging up work is under way for Republic No. 3.
Rhoades Oil Company No. 1 (Climax) is not on production as yet. The oil string is to be pulled cut and the 10 inch recented. At No. 2 a steady production of 100 barrels daily is being realized. (Edca) No. 3 is making about 200 barrels.
At 4254 feet where a string of 8 inch was set the Standard's B-2 is showing up nicely and makes the outlook for a lot of property lying between the discovery well and the water front very favorable. Huntington A-5 is to be deepened from 2970, A-7 at 2790 is testing water. A-9 at 2868 met with pipe trouble and is swedging. A-12 continues to produce close to 1000 barrels daily. A-13 at 3154 is fishing. 16 and 17 are standing cemented. No. 17 is drilling out to test water at 2012. B-4 at 2843 is making about 450 barrels. Drilling on B-6 is at 1800. No. 6 is testing out at 2325. B-7 is down 1885, B-8 and B-9 are building rig. Huntington C-1 is being deepened from 2370. D-1 at 2664 is standing cemented. D-2 is a location and D-3 is building rig and rigging up. E-1 stands cemented at 2520. E-2 at 2341 is doing about 200 barrels. E-3 with the ri repaired is ready to go ahead. E-4 shows 2345 feet, and 5 is located. Bolsa No. 3 continues to produce as a small well at 2571. No. 5 Bolsa spudded in and shows 1000 feet, Jones No. 2 at 2900 is fishing. Jones No. 3 is building rig. Surf No. 2 at 1937 stands cemented. Thompson No. 1 at 2925 did not come up to expectations and is deepening. At Torrance No. 1, the 4 inch is being pulled at 4485 and the well deepened. Farnsworth No. 1 is drilling at 2400 and Pacific No. 1 at 1895.

MEAT CAUSE OF
KIDNEY TROUBLE
Take a glass of Salts if your Back hurts or Bladder bothers—Meat forms uric acid.
If you must have your meat every day, eat it, but flush your kidneys with salts occasionally, says a noted authority who tells us that meat forms uric acid which almost paralyzes the kidneys in their efforts to expel it from the blood. They become sluggish and weaken, then you suffer with a dull misery in the kidney region, sharp pains in the back or sick headache, dizziness, your stomach sours, tongue is coated and when the weather is bad you have rheumatic twinges. The urine gets cloudy, full of sediment, the channels often get sore and irritated, obliging you to seek relief two or three time during the night.
To neutralize these irritating acids, to cleanse the kidneys and flush off the body's urinous waste get four ounces of Jad Salts from any pharmacy here; take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast for a few days and your kidneys will then act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for generations.

FEW FOLKS HAVE GRAY HAIR NOW
Druggist Says Ladies are Using Recipe of Sage Tea and Sulphur.
Hair that loses its color and lustre, or when it fades, turns gray, dull and lifeless, is caused by a lack of sulphur in the hair. Our grandmother made up a mixture of Sage Tea and Sulphur to keep her locks dark and beautiful, and thousands of women and men who value that even color, that beautiful dark shade of hair which is so attractive, use only this old-time recipe.
Nowadays we get this famous mixture improved by the addition of other ingredients by asking at any drug store for a bottle of "Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound," which darkens the hair so naturally, so evenly, that nobody can possibly tell it has been applied. You just dampen a sponge or soft brush with it and draw this through your hair, taking one small strand at a time. By morning the gray hair disappears; but what delights the ladies with Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound is that, besides beautifully darkening the hair after a few applications, it also brings back the gloss and lustre and gives it an appearance of abundance.
Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound is a delightful toilet requisite to impart color and a youthful appearance to the hair. It is not intended for the cure, mitigation or prevention of disease.
